As the students walk into the classroom for the first time, they are like blank canvases ready for imagination and creativity to take hold and create something beautiful.

Before the artist even begins to paint, they first have an idea of where they want to go and achieve with the blank canvas. This is like a teacher because teachers plan their lessons and units based on where they want their students to end up and know by the end of the school year.

At the end of the day, an artist showcases their work for an audience. This is like how students showcase their learning at the end of a unit through a project or a task.

If an artist makes a mistake or the paint is not creating a picture that they like, they can start over on a clean canvas the next day. In teaching, if a student misbehaves or disrupts the class, the teacher should start the next class with a clean slate to give that student another chance.

Just as artists have critiques from their audience about how the painting looks, students are assessed on their work and projects from their teachers.
