Workshop
HELP! I DIDN’T LEARN THIS STUFF IN COLLEGE
Being a classroom teacher is more than managing students and creating awesome lesson plans. There is so much more to it than that. Unfortunately, there are no college courses on how to survive the classroom. You entered into this profession because you wanted to educate and make a difference. However, the unexpected curve balls being thrown at you are wearing you down.
DON’T GIVE UP
Our students need passionate educators just like you. Reignite that passion with simple and easy to implement strategies that will take you from highly frustrated to highly effective.
LEARN HOW TO
• Have an effective parent conference• Collect and analyze data• Deal with “curve balls”• Plan a week/month/year in advance• and much more!
Parent
InvolvementFOR STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTThe most accurate predictor of a student’s achievement in school is not income or social status but the extent to which that student’s family is able to:
• Create a home environment that encourages learning.
• Express high (but not unrealistic) expectations for their children’s achievement and future careers.
• Become involved in their children’s education at school and in the community.
FOR PARENTS AND EDUCATORS• Great for the Fall Parent Night. Give your parents
some support with this entertaining and informative parent workshop. They will learn how to support their children and build better relationships with teachers. They will learn strategies to extend the learning from the classroom to home…and much more!
• Also excellent for your educators. Teachers will learn about the 3 classroom management styles and discover which style is the most favorable among parents. They will learn about the 5 main parent personality styles and how to support each style.
