What were your intentions when you took the photograph?

When I took my photos my intentions were to create a happy, laidback and intriguing male fashion theme for my audience.

I made this image evident that it was a fashion theme by getting my model to wear fashionable clothes and stand against a plain background so it didn’t distract the audience from the model. I also made sure the model didn’t look too serious to display a laidback and comfortable feeling by almost slouching against the wall. I also made my image look intriguing by using direct address.

The clothes my model is wearing is different shades of blue to express an everyday casual theme with no particular season. The background I chose doesn’t distract the audience from the main image because it is plain but still gives off an edgy theme. I also made sure that the day I took the photo was sunny as a cloudy day would give off a negative feeling for the audience. My model is looking straight in to the camera to create direct address for the audience so that the model is looking at them from whatever angle. My photo is made to look laidback so the audience doesn’t feel uncomfortable by the models position and it looks like he’s enjoying himself.

How does the final image fulfil your intentions?

The final image I chosen fulfils my intentions because I created a happy, laidback and intriguing feel for the audience.

The image matches my original ideas because I wanted a plain background to make my model stand out and be the main focus for the audience which gets the point across without reading in to it. The photo is also bright with enough blank space above the head and around the image to add the masthead and cover lines. It is also made with a happy feel by taking the pictures on a bright day which will also make my audience feel happy. The model is also wearing fashionable clothes which fulfils the intentions of creating an obvious fashion theme.

How well does the combination of the image and text work?

The combination of image and text works because I have made sure that all of the cover lines and the masthead is visible. I have also made sure that the cover lines and masthead doesn’t go over the model. The colour scheme Also relates the theme because it stands out on the models clothes and looks bright and intriguing for the audience.

I did this by making the font small enough to not cover any of the models face or the whole outfit but big enough to stand out on the model. I used a bright font colour because it stands out well on the models dark clothes and doesn’t make the image seem to dark.
