The Title Of The Film

This is our title sequence we choose to put our title sequence at the start of the opening instead of the end because we thought that it would give the audience more of a idea of what the genre of the film will be. Also it gives more of the feel that it is actually a opening of a film rather than if we put it at the end it gets more of the sense that it is a trailer. We had the idea of what to cal the film whilst listening to a song and then josh and i both thought this was the perfect title because it is a enigma code for what happens later in the film because the audience get the sense that something may leave or die which is close to them.

Setting/location

This is our location of our film, we choose to use josh’s house because it is fairly big and has a big front garden so is good for establishing shots on the house. It also makes it look more like a real film because most mainstream films are set in big houses. There is also a large front room with big windows in. So a lot of natural light will be in the living room which is a lot better for filming.

Costumes and Props

We told the female character to wear something bright like pink and then a hint of a dark clothing. So in the first scene she is wearing a pink dress which represents love and her passion towards her boyfriend. But she also wearing a black cardigan which represents the bad in her life which could take over her life in the rest of the film.

Camerawork and Editing

We filmed most of the footage in the natural light so the image is more clear although we didn't get the real feel we wanted. We would of liked to film at night to create more of a feel. We used slow editing because we were inspired by mainstream films with the same genre as our film.

Title Font and Style

We used a continuous Font throughout the title sequence we choose a simple font to stop the cheesy effect, and make it look more professional. We chose blue because it is relaxed and a neutral colour.

Story and how the Opening sets it up

The story is mainly based on two lovers and the male finds out that he is seriously ill and is going to die. The rest of the film is how the couple spend the rest of their lives together. The opening sets this up because it starts of with the ending of the film so the audience know what will happen at the end of the film. But the ending of the film will become more emotional after the audience has watched the whole film. Also our opening leaves the audience on a cliff-hanger because they6 want to know what is wrong with the male partner and why he dies.

Genre and how the opening suggests it

The genre of our film Is romance/tear jerker. The opening of the film suggests this because of the title of the film is forever in my heart which is appropriate for the genre also there is a lot of scenery shots which shows beauty which is related to love. The audience has already seen tears in the first seen so the audience know that it will be a tear jerker, from the start.

How characters are introduced

The characters are introduced straight from the start . At first we see the female character walking towards the house as if she is coming back from some where . Then the first time we see the male character he is lifeless on the floor in her house.

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Page 12: Evaluation

The female character is represented in the film as good because she has bright colours on this represents love and passion for which she has for her husband . But to counter that she has black colours on her this shows she is not all good and something bad may happen in her life; this gives the impression to the audience that the film is not all going to be about love and passion something bad may happen later therefore making the audience watch on. She differs from the boyfriend because there is only 1 shot on the opening where him and her which actually together but in that shot he is dead this shows that whenever she is with him it brings sadness they love each other but it is hard for them to show it because every time there with each other something bad may happen; the audience may think this because of the opening scene they may have bad luck when there together. I can compare this character to Demmi Moore in the film ghost. Because it is a story of unrequainted love of a relationship that ended suddenly and unexpectantly without meaning.

The male character is represented in the film as bad because he wear quite dark colours throughout the film this shows that something bad is going to happen in the future and this reflexes and shows to the audience by his clothes he is wearing. Also in the film most of his camera shots are low down this shows that something bad will happen again and he has a bad presents throughout the whole film. In every scene at the opening sad emotion is represented this shows the enigma code because something going to happen later in the film. The first scene we see him in is a death scene this represent him as the theme of death from the start to the audience therefore creating the death theme for that specific scene. I can compare this character to Patrick Swayze in the film ghost, this is because his character represents innocence and vulnerability.

Who would be the audience for your media product?

The target audience for are film would be females aged 25-45 this is because women are more emotional to men and normally love a romantic film therefore we based are audience on these gender and age range. We focused it on housekeepers who stay at home and look after there children ;normally those type of jobs stereotypically wise for true love and romantic one day therefore there the type of audience we would base the film for. The target audience likes would be the idea of true love this reflexes in are film, handsome men we tried to bring a handsome men in the role of this to fulfil there likes to make the film better for our target audience, flowers and chocolate this represents love and passion we included love in our film there covering these 2 likes, finally cosy nights in our film is 1 of those types of films which you can watch on a cosy night in therefore our film fights in with this. The target audience have some dislikes as well these are; mess or no organisation in are film we had a tidy setting throughout are film therefore pleasing the target audience, our target also hate anger therefore are film is full of emotion not angry to create the impression of romance throughout and finally they hate dark colour so we did not include really dark colours but quite dark still to create the effect of a death theme for certain scenes. The housekeepers ambition is to have the best “house keep” in the area and also to be in true love with are film shows the two characters are therefore making the target audience like the film more because it shows what they want in there life. The music they would like is slow and quite old for example Michael Jackson, George Michael and wham these are sow music so we chose to have slow music in are film to be able to make audience enjoy the film more.

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression

from it to full product?

I enjoyed creating both preliminary task and full product task a lot and i feel i have learnt a great deal of skills in the process for example camera angles, editing techniques and sound. I know have more knowledge of all the different styles there are in creating a film as well..

Page 19: Evaluation

Camera WorkI have learnt a lot about camera work throughout the project and have tried to use as

many camera angles and techniques as possible.

One of the techniques we learnt about was the 180 degree rule which we have used in both preliminary and final task.

This is where the camera is restricted to one side of the characters shoulder. Usually used in conversation

Page 20: Evaluation

Camera WorkAnother technique we learnt about was the match on action. This is where the camera will start behind a character for example half way through opening a door then the camera will shoot to the other side of the door as they fully open the door and walk in. We used this technique in both preliminary and Final peice.
