Job Description:
The positions are for a 9 month contract as
Community Energy Assessors with a large
energy company.
A full ongoing mentoring training programme will
be provided by the company including working
towards customer Service NVQ Level 2 which is
customised for the energy assessor duties.
The role will be to test the energy efficiency of
buildings/homes through the collection of data
on dimensions, construction, heating and hot
water provision and input onto an approved
software programme which in turn will develop a
Home Energy Report.
You will provide impartial, accurate and relevant
advice to homeowners via a range of media and
face to face contact on efficiency.
The aim is to promote the installation to homes
of insulation, heating and renewable energy
measures and action resulting in lower energy
use.
Minimum Standards / Skills / Qualifications and
Experience required for the role:
Good standard of literacy and numeracy
Good communication skills both verbally and written
IT skills
Self motivated and highly driven
Professional in nature
Customer Focussed
Approachable and Caring
Open and honest
Of smart appearance
Some knowledge of energy efficiency is desirable but not essential as full training is provided.

undertaken
Salary: National Minimum Wage
Start on Site Date / Finish on Site Date:
28th November 2011 for 9 months
Working hours: 30 hours per week, Flexible hours, 5 days over 7
Interview details:
Candidates selected for the first stage of the
recruitment process will be invited directly to an
awareness session (Date TBC). This will include
a basic numeracy and literacy test and informal
interview max 10 minutes.
Succesful candidates will then be required to
attend a formal interview.
These details will go to the Birmingham City Council’s Employment Access Team. The details will be used to identify a client base through the Birmingham City Council’s Employment Database, Job Centre Plus and other organisations.
