Summary Effect of the Plyometricelectrical training on developing the explosive strength of the legs and its relation to the player's
performance of some Fundamentals in basketball
Explosive strength is considered one the main task in basketball as many researchers have tried to improve it by using different ways.
Plyometric training is a method which act to develop the explosive strength, but the voluntary contraction which occur during this plyometric training not all the muscular fibers are sharing in it, as the person is not able to produce all the strength of his muscles voluntary as the difference between the maximum voluntary strength which the body can produce and what can produce of strength actually is referred to the storing strength or loosing strength .
Therefore the less the difference between which the muscle could produce voluntary and between could be produced actually of absolute strength the more the strength of the muscular flexion.
The studies have indicated that stimulating the muscle electrically by outer methods leads the muscle to produce a strength more then which could be produced voluntary , one of these methods is the electrical stimulating to the muscles , this idea depends on electric shocks directed from outside the muscles through involuntary flexion , as all the muscular fibers which stimulated electrically are being flexed . but how the voluntary flexion of the muscle can be improved after exposing to the electrical stimulant is still unclear .
Therefore the research is trying to develop the explosive strength of the leg's muscles in the basketball players through new trend in the area of the explosive strength through the combination between the plyometric training (Voluntary flexion) and the electrical stimulant of the muscles (Involuntary flexion) which may lead to developing the explosive strength of the leg's muscles in the basketball players which could improve their technical performances related to jumping up and speed of the technical performance in addition to improving their leg's movements. The researches has called this method (Plyometricelectrical training) .
The objectives :
1 Setting a new method in the area of the explosive strength training through the combination between the plyometric training and the electrical stimulant (plyometricelectrical training) .
3
2 To know the effect of the plyometricelectrical training on the improvement rate the explosive strength of the leg's muscles in basketball players.
3 To know the effect of the plyometricelectrical training on the improvement rat the performing level of some Fundamentals in basketball .
The hypotheses : 1 The suggested plyometricelectrical training program lead to increase the
muscular size of thigh and skank in basketball players .
2 The suggested plyometricelectrical training program lead to develop the explosive strength of the leg's muscles in basketball players.
3 The suggested plyometricelectrical training program lead to develop the maximum strength and the transitional speed of the players.
4 The suggested plyometricelectrical training program lead to improve the speed and accuracy of the performance level of each of (jump shoot – dribbling – foot work) of the basketball players.
5 Both methods used in the research (plyometricelectrical training) and (the plyometric training only) lead to develop and improve all the research variables but with different ratio on behalf of the suggested training program (the plyometricelectrical training).
The procedures: 1 The method:
The researches has used the empirical method with two experimental groups as it is suitable for the research , so the researcher has used the empirical method of the pre and post design of the two groups of the research.
2 The domains:
1 The population (the sample):
The basic experiment of the research was conducted to (n = 20) players under 20 years at smouha sporting club.
The sample was chosen intentionally and it was divided into two equal groups , one is the first experimental group (n = 10) players, the other is the second experimental group (n = 10) players . This distribution was done according to the researcher knowledge about the players characteristics and their playing positions (cut – pivoting – playmaker) as this random layer distribution avoid the chance of error with each other.

2 The temporal domain :
A The pilot studies :
The first pilot study from 1/4/2002 to 15/6/2002
The second pilot study 28 and 29/7/2002
B The basic study :
It was conducted from 1/8/2002 to 26/10/2002 as following :
The premeasurements 1,2 /8/2002
The basic study from 3/8/2002 to 24/10/2002
The post measurements 26,27 /10/2002
C The geographical domain :
The pre, post and basic experiments were taking place at the courts of smouha club.
4The basic experiment of the research :
1 The researcher has conducted the premeasurement to the sample on 1,2 /8/2002 as he fixed some variable which have its effect on the experimental variable to guarantee the pure effect of this experimental variable (plyometricelectrical training) on the dependent variable (The leg's explosive strength and the basic principles in basketball) by using a group of tests and experiments which were standardized in the former studies and proved to be valid , reliable and objective in measuring in addition that the researcher has controlled some factors related to conducting the basic experiment, the program period of first and second experiment groups were 12 weeks.
The first experiment group was trained by using the suggested method (plyometricelectrical training) .
The second training program was training only by the plyometric training.
2 The period of the basic study was defined from 3/8/2002 to 24/10/2002 , the basic study was executed during the preparation period of the sample.
3 The training units were three units weekly.
4 The total training units were 36 units.
5 Time for each training unit was 60 minutes.
6 The suggested training program based on the combination between the plyometric training and the electrical stimulant of the muscles as the player starts by using the electrical stimulant device by fixing the receptors of the device to perform 50 % only from the training unit size (frequency), and
5
then completed the remaining training unit by using the plyometric training by 50%, the training size represents either repeating the number of jumps in the plyometric training or repeating the number of flexion in the electrical stimulant.
7 The used training load of the muscles when using the electrical stimulant was as following :
The strength of the trigger (load intensity) was defined according to the player's degree of endurance the degree of triggering was increased every four weeks.
The electrical stimulant was given for every other second and for (1220) seconds with a rate of (610) contracts followed with a rest of (1220) seconds.
8 Concerning the plyometric training it is done on a fixed height of the funnel and jumping box for the two groups and the whole length of the program, but there is a gradual increase in the program load and the training difficulty every four weeks .
The results : 1 Using the suggested method by using the (plyometricelectrical training)
leads to :
Increasing the muscular size of the leg's muscles as the thigh circumference increased 40.01% , and the gamellus muscle increased 4.76% .
Developing the explosive strength of the leg's muscles, as the vertical jumping distance has increased 23.47% and the broad jump 10.20 %.
Developing the maximum strength of the leg's muscles 14.48 % .
Developing the maximum speed 10.28 %.
Some basic skills in the basketball have improved such as speed and accuracy of jump shoot 75.34 % , dribbling 6.84 % and foot work 7.03%.
2 The suggested method by using (the plyometricelectrical) yield the best results then using the plyometric training only in all research measurements.
3 Using the suggested training program (plyometricelectrical) helps to trigger the storing strength with a great ratio than the plyometric training only.
Recommendations: 1 The suggested training program should be used (plyometricelectrical) to
develop the explosive strength and maximum strength of the legs muscles to improve all the skillful performance levels related to the foot work such as
6
jumping up, speed, changing direction, stopping and support in the basketball players.
2 This suggested program should be used to develop the maximum transitional speed and the speed changing direction which the players need to perform the dribbling skill.
3 This suggested program should be used to develop the muscular size of the legs' muscles as in turn increase the muscular strength .
4 This suggested program should be used to invest the potential storing strength in basketball players and which is difficult to be triggered by using the other training method.
5 This research could be conducted again on other muscular group especially the upper part of performances related to the muscular group such as shoot and pass skills.

performance of some Fundamentals in basketball Mohamed AbdelHamed Belal
The purpose of this study was to define the effect of the (plyometricelectrical) training on developing the explosive strength of the legs and its effect on improving some Fundamentals in basketball .
The basic study was administered to (n = 20) players under 20 years and they were chosen intentionally. The sample was divided into two experimental the first one used the suggested training program (plyometricelectrical) which is a combination between the plyometric training and the electrical stimulation of the muscles, while the second group used the plyometric training only. The training program lasted for 12 weeks , three training units every week, From discussing the results the suggested program has led to the following:
Increasing the muscular size of the leg's muscles as the thigh circumference increased 40.01% , and the gamellus muscle increased 4.76% .
Developing the explosive strength of the leg's muscles, as the vertical jumping distance has increased 23.47% and the broad jump 10.20 %.
Developing the maximum strength of the leg's muscles 14.48 % .
Developing the maximum speed 10.28 %.
Some basic skills in the basketball have improved such as speed and accuracy of jump shoot 75.34 % , dribbling 6.84 % and foot work 7.03%.
The suggested method by using (the plyometricelectrical) yield the best results then using the plyometric training only in all research measurements.
Using the suggested training program (plyometricelectrical) helps to trigger the storing strength with a great ratio than the plyometric training only.
