The Opening

For the opening bit I decided to have short clips of the artist on each bit. There are 4 identical parts to the opening (you can see on the image where there are 3 clips together or a long clip marks the end of one (actually its easier to see by the green markers at the top)). I used clips from each scene in these sections. Currently I only have 3 scenes so the fourth is the asylum

scene again but in blue. This works well, but I am considering doing another scene. If I do then the fourth bit will be made up of this instead.

I used the green audio bar at the bottom to match my clips to the beat with the help of markers. It is a convention of videos to match them to the beat.

The Fa Fa Fa Bit

This bit is the first ‘fa fa fa faa, fa fa fa faa faa better’ part of the lyrics. For this I decided to have each ‘fa’ from a different coloured version of the asylum scene (remember how I filmed it in different lights?). I used the green audio bar and the markers again to match the clips to the

beat again. All the clips are from the stationary version of the scene so that it looks like the artist is in the same place but the colour is changing.

The Run Run Away Bit

To create a link between visuals and lyrics and to amplify the lyrics I put a load of the chase scene’s clips together on one of the run run away bits. This run run run away bit is followed by some ohs and ay ay ay ay bits which made it ideal for this long sequence. This is the bit which I

refered to in planning as the Scooby Doo Shot. When filming I set the camera still using the tripod and had the characters chase each other in and out of a set of tables. Therefore, here I

could simply chop up parts to have them running from whatever angle in whichever direction at any point.

The French Bit & Onwards

So, I think I’ve already given an update on how the french verse was going editing wise so I wont go into much detail other than I’ve finished it. There is one shot that is annoyingly out of focus

which I’m not sure whether to change or not since it fits in really well. I’ve done a bit of random cutting in the final instrumental bit but that’s it really, I’m not really sure what to do with it. Like I said in the first slide; I’m thinking of doing another scene which I could put into this bit and give

me a starting point to build aroun. That’s the same for the other bits as well (there are two other sections of the song which I havn’t really done much on (they’re immediately before and

after the run run away part)).
