The NightmareEDITING NOTE

Shooting the film was way more easier than the editing part. It took like 15 days to make sense out of my movie. I had less experience of editing but with the help and guidance of my teacher, my seniors and my fellows I was able to learn the basics of editing quite quickly. After some days I was able to do some advanced stuff in editing.

I used different softwares for different purposes however the basic and most of the editing was done using ‘Adobe Premiere Pro 6’.

I used a lot of transitions in my film, especially fade to black and cross dissolve. This helped me edit my movie smoothly and gave a nice after effect between the transition of one shot to another shot.

I had to put synchronous music for a horror movie to enhance the horror effect and to improve the film I edited the score using audio transitions and cropped and edited the volume of score and dialogues where it was essential.

I did my screen play using ‘Final Draft 8’

I also used Final Cut Pro X to improve my film. This was used for the titles, subtitles and credits because of the variety it offers in this field of editing.

I also used Adobe Photoshop CS6 further improve the titles.

I changed the colours in my camera settings for a better effect so I did not have to alter colours in editing.

I also used collar microphones for improving sound quality though I did edit it to make it even better.

And this is how my film was completed and ready for the audience.
