The people in animal costumes signify Taylor’s ‘wild side’ and displays the true emotions behind the chorus ‘we are never getting back together’, it may be perceived the lyrics portray an aggressive manor however the video allows the audience to see she is more happy without the man being part of her life.

The title ‘happy days’ within a heart shaped entrance suggest that they are looking back on their memories of when their relationship was good. The street lamp to the left emphasizes this though of ‘taking a trip down memory lane’.
