Would you like to support a charity?Dave Johnson has been growing some lovely facial hair to raise money for prostate cancer. Over 35,000 men are affected every year and there is a real lack of funding.

To check out his moustache and donate some money (or just post a cheeky comment) visit: http://www.justgiving.com/We-like-to-Mov-it-Mov-it .

Thanks to everyone who helped with filming…A massive thank you to everyone who joined in with the filming over the past couple of weeks. It’s awkward, embarrassing and a definitely step into the unknown. I hate the phrase “Stepping out of your comfort zone” however this was definitely one of them and I know lots of people actually enjoyed the experience. Thank you and well done!

December Birthdays!Congratulation to everyone who celebrates a birthday this month – have a fantastic day! December birthday’s make you extra special (can you guess I’m one of them)!

Private Lessons Over Christmas?Adults – don’t forget that private lessons are available during the daytime and limited spaces are available at weekends.

Training Tip:When it comes to your training there’s so much to cover (think punches, kicks, footwork, forms and for the guys learning Chi Sau – your sections) it’s very easy to get overwhelmed.

The easiest way to get ahead with your training is to start making sure you really take note of the key points mentioned to you or the class during a lesson and really focus on getting that right over the next few weeks or months.

Work on it until it becomes normal, a good habit. Then it’s a simple case of listening to what’s said and repeating.

The same can be said about anything you read or courses you attend. There can be so much information that you forget it all and do nothing. Instead try to pick a key point, make it habit then find another one and do the same. Read a chapter – put it into practise and when it’s part of your norm – read the next chapter.

Letters to Father Christmas!Don’t forget to post your letter to Father Christmas before he pays a visit to the Kung Fu School on Saturday 19th December.

There Are No Secrets: Professor Cheng Man-ch’ing and his Tai Chi Chuan by Wolfe Lowenthal

This famous Tai Chi master move to New York in the 1960s and stayed there for over a decade before returning to his resting place in Taiwan in 1975. Not a book with lots of useless pictures on learning Tai Chi but a fantastic insight
