  • Not Constraints, Pressure and Demands!

  • CPD should not be the occasional extra
  • So a solution might be a PLN.

  • Weve had SLNs
  • Where has this idea come from?
  • Simple Google search will give you lots of links!
  • Its an easier way to think about how you are or can be connected.

  • Stay connected as a learner and teacher

  • Join TES resources to download materials
  • Be part of the MFLResources Yahoo group
  • Join Linguanet forum through CILT
  • Read the ALL sites and ALL London in particular

9. Presentation & bookmark sharing

  • Slideshare.net share your PowerPoints and look for other peoples
  • Vimeo.net for video
  • Prezi.com great way to gather ideas
  • Delicious.com get good at Tags and share your bookmarks

10. Online meetings

  • Be part of a Flashmeeting

  • Warning its VERY public

  • Enjoy daft things that make you laugh!

  • You can search for people you know
  • See who they are following and click to follow them too
  • Search lists for teachers with different interests SEN, Maths, Management
  • Get wind of the latest news before it hits the papers!

  • Its instant
  • When you have also met some of the people, it gains hugely in meaning
  • Ask experts and get replies Edmodo man answers me personally
  • Join in specific web chats attach a # e.g. #EDL #FM9 #somersetmfl

18. 19. Best Tip - use an aggregator!

  • How can you follow lots of sites easily?
  • Get new posts delivered to you you dont need to go to each site!
  • You can keep up with large numbers of contributions and keep them for reading later or star or share
  • Google Reader is free and easy to use

  • Open an account
  • Go to top heading Google Reader
  • Find a site with RSS feed and click on it ask to subscribe using Google Reader (or others!)
