• Rachel Scott was killed on
April 20, 1999 in the
Columbine Shooting.
• Unlike other
students, Rachel started a
legacy that would be
passed on forever.
•“I have this theory
that if one can go
out of their way to
show compassion, it
will start a chain
reaction of the
same”
Rachel continues to
impact everyone
that hears her story.
She has inspired so
many to start a chain
reaction.
Kerri Schmitt
I have known Coach Schmitt for the past
five years. We are very
close.
Schmitt helped me
decide on Rachel’s Challenge and
helped me contact
them.
We came up with
ideas on what to do after Rachel’ s
Challenge.
I wrote about the impact Rachel’s
Challenge has had.
My research paper taught me how
everything about Rachel’s Challenge.
My research paper really helped me.
I learned more than I ever thought I
would.
Why wouldn’t I?
Rachel’s Challenge is a powerful positive
message that can change any school.
I want to make a difference in
someone’s life.
I had to make many phone calls to Stacey
Peacock with Rachel’s Challenge and try to fit
Creekview in there busy schedule.
I also had to present Rachel’s Challenge to Dr.
Eddy and get permission to bring them to
Creekview.
Once I got the OK from Dr. Eddy, Stacey and I
booked a date and it was final.
I had the pleasure to introduce Miss Erica from Rachel’s
Challenge.
She did a great job and really spoke to Creekview staff and students.
Erica really helped me come up with ideas for what to do after Rachels Challenge
• Our first meeting was a success. We had 17 people
show up and many more could not attend the
morning meeting due to no transportation.
•We wrote down our goals as a club and decided to
cross one of those out that weekend by feeding the
homeless.
Friends of Rachel Club decided to go
downtown to the streets of Atlanta and
feed the homeless.
We went with a local church and grew closer by talking about our goals we have
for the club and for our community.
We have many goals that we hope to
complete by the end of the school year!
Currently our club is working on
collecting supplies for a baby
orphanage.
We are hoping to collect enough
supplies to help them through the hard
times they are having right now.
Contacting Rachel’s Challenge, Stacey
Peacock. She was only available during
school hours.
