UNKNOWN VOCABULARY
What do we do when we don´t know the meaning of a
word?
We will use context clues to figure out the meaning of
the unknown word. Context clues may be information
from the previous or next sentences or what has
happened before in the story.
Indignantly?
We know that Mrs Whatsit has been offered a
sandwich.
She refused what was offered to her and asked for
caviar, which was a surprise for mum’s birthday.
Charles is angry, frustrated, annoyed because of
this.
With this information, we can infer that indignantly is a
feeling of anger because something happened in an
unfair or inappropriate way.
