Composition techniques
By Carisa Penner
Framing your shots
This picture represents framing your picture. The way the tree branches, frame the grass and the side for school. The colors of the trees match the color of the grass and school.
This picture represents The Rule of Thirds. The pump jacks are on one side of the page. While the sun going down makes a nice back round of a
sunset.
This picture represents Focal points. Love, loved and loving is the words that pop up! You have to use a special kind of setting to get a picture this close. Called Super Macro.
I chose this picture because of the unusual angles. I like the way the main part of the
picture is off to the side.
This picture shows the technique of using lines. I love the way this picture turned out. It has many vertical and horizontal lines. Even all the nails are
lined up. There is also some paint on the lines making it even more unusual.
Active Space
This picture represents active space. The clouds shadowing in the puddles make for active space. The water moving around in the puddle also makes the picture active and there is lots of space.
