Assignment 25 – Film titles/credits research

American Horror Story:

• The title of the film is positioned centrally in the shot.

•The actors are also positioned centrally in the shots.

•American Horror Story uses a non-linear OTS.

•Strange objects and creatures are shown in various shots.

• This OTS is inspirational to our project because we are planning to use a non-linear OTS.

The Conjuring:

• The cast is placed amongst the photographs.

• The main title is placed centrally in the OTS.

• The OTS uses old photographs to show off the themes that will feature in the film.

• The Conjuring uses a non – linear OTS.

• This OTS is inspirational to us because it uses a non – linear OTS which is what we plan to use and also it uses themes that we want to include in our OTS.

Dawn Of The Dead:

• The title of the film is shown halfway through the OTS and fills the entire screen.

• The use of symbolism is used in this OTS.

• The credits are edited to look as though they are blood trickling off the screen.

• Dawn of the dead uses a non-linear OTS sequence.

• This OTS is inspirational to us because of the font used in the OTS and also the unique non – linear style that the film uses.
