THE STAGES

Contenders from invited B-Schools enter the contest and participate in the Hurdle, an online test. Selected 100 proceed to Ignite. Ignite is an online event of social relevance

30 contenders are invited to the campus where they perform a number of group tasks testing managerial and leadership skills, on Day 1 of Ashwa, the Ascend

Selected contenders proceed to Day 2, the Summit, and perform tasks of increased complexity, stress and pressure proving their leadership and execution skills

Chosen few enter Spotlight, a public stress interview by eminent panel of judges comprising of leaders from industry and the academic world

About Ashwamedha

Ashwamedha is meticulously designed each year by a special team comprising of students, professors and consultants. Every year, more than 1500 of the brightest minds from the top B-schools of the country participate in this grand event. Ashwamedha is a battle spread over 30 days culminating in a grand finale at the IIM Indore campus. With the phi losophy of “Ekameva Jayate”, Ashwamedha awards only a single winner who takes it all including the prize money of Rs. 1,50,000/-. Ashwamedha is the true embodiment of the spirit of competition, where the participants co-operate to advance and yet have to outwit their adversaries. For only one shall take the prize money and the coveted Golden Horse home.

The event places you in a series of simulated real life scenarios where the you have to use your wits, knowledge and passion to prove

y o u r m e t t l e i n v a r i e d a s p e c t s l i k e negotiation, decision making, team work, creativity, stress handling, self- confidence and other such skills testing your managerial and leadership acumen in high pressure situations. The event is divided into multiple stages and the level of complexity and pressure increases with each passing round.

This time Ashwamedha goes global. We are open to final year students of India's top 30 B-Schools and 30 international counterparts of highest repute.

We have thrown Ashwa open to corporate executives, who have been there and done it all. It gives an opportunity for current students to benchmark skills and to match creativity with the best in business. It won’t be a walk in the park for the executives too. If you disagree, we invite you to prove it and pocket a cool 150,000 Rupees.

Eligibility

Final year PGP students of invited B-Schools (Top 30. Visit www.ahvan.in for the list of invited schools)

EPGP Students of invited B-Schools

People holding MBA equivalent degrees, working in concerns

Non MBA holders who have full time paid work experience of two years or more

Entry Fee

Free for current PGP and EPGP students

Rs 500 is the entry fee for working professionals. Professionals will be invited to the campus on the basis of their performance in the Hurdle- an aptitude online test, and their B-Plan for sustainable solution for a given social problem. The Hurdle round will not be an elimination round for working professionals.

TASK DETAILS

Hurdle

An online aptitude test. It is an elimination round for current students and one of the j u d g i n g p a r a m e t e r s f o r w o r k i n g professionals

Ignite

100 surviving students would be placed in 10 clubs each of size 10. Each club will be given a social issue for which they have to create a B plan based solution that is sustainable and submit their presentations.

After submissions, the Ignite round will begin and run for 5 days. Each day two plans gets featured online from each club. All the members of the respective clubs will have to post their critique on the featured

plans. After the day of featuring, the author will get a day to incorporate the suggestions and submit the final B-plan. Each club will have a faculty of IIM Indore as the judge for the club who will periodically post his comments. Based on the performance in Ignite round (plan and critique) the judges will recommend people to invite for the campus round from their respective clubs.

Working professionals will also have the task of creating a B-plan based sustainable solution to a social issue, but professionals will not be put through the full rigor of the Ignite round. Their B-Plan and their performance in Hurdle will be used to determine the campus round invitees.

Campus round day 1- Ascend

Ascend involves a series of tasks testing the contestant’s expertise in various domains like marketing, finance, strategy, operations.

They tasks are also designed to test aspects like innovation, negotiation, team play, decision making, stress handling ability, street smartness, power play and so on. Some fun activities will be thrown in to ease the burden of the grueling schedule.

Campus round day 2- Summit

Surviving contestants shall be given one or two tasks of high stress and complexity to test out leadership aptitude and execution mettle.

Grand Finale- Spotlight

Public stress interview with eminent judges is held under a spotlight in IIM Indore Auditorium filled to it capacity. The ultimate winner is the one who after proving his mettle among other participants, is also unfazed by the crowd, panel of judges and charms the audience with his wits.
