My travels

• During my Sophomore year in college at UC Davis, I went abroad to study the culture in South Africa.

• I lived in Cape Town, South Africa for the summer of 2007.

• It was the best experience of my life!

• I have also done family vacations to Hawaii, Mexico, Virgin Islands, and Germany.

• But I found true passion for South Africa and hope to visit again.

My Family and History

• My family and its History is becoming more and more important to me every year. I am really considered the “mut” of the family because I have a little mix of everything. On my moms side of the family, they are from Italy and Spain. My family migrated to the US in 1912 to Ellis Island, and migrated to Colorado and California.

• On my fathers side of the family, there are from England and Germany. My family migrated to the US in the late 1800’s in Ellis Island and moved to Illinois, then ended up coming to California.

• Over this upcoming summer 2011, I plan to travel to England and Italy and trace back our family roots.

• I still have much to learn about my family history, but I am excited to learn.

My Education: UC Davis• Education is very important to my

family. I am the second person in my family to attend college.

• I have attended UC Davis since 2006, and I hope to graduate soon.

• My major is African Studies, and minor in Sociology.

• I am currently at Saddleback finishing some classes.

• Everyone always asks what I plan to do with my major, but I am not sure yet. I followed my heart and what subject I had passion for. There are no careers that are limited towards my major. But, before I start my career I want to find something that I would enjoy doing, rather than being unhappy.

My Job: Customer Service

I really enjoy the job because I communicate with people and try to get their needs met. This type of job is new for me, but I definitely enjoying it.

• The people I work with are very fun to work with.
