MORE ON THE PLAN OF SALVATION
As stated a few weeks ago I began a series of articles with passages coming from the book “The Simple Truth” by Aaron Erhardt. We will continue our look at the truth of salvation. This morning we will look at the fifth area of the “Plan of Salvation” and how we are to follow each step to truly reach our ultimate goal in this life, “Heaven.”
BAPTISMA person must be baptized in water regardless
of what one may think, “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned” (Mark 16:16). “Then Peter said to them, Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2:38).
Baptism stands between a sinner and his/her salvation (Mark16:16), a sinner and the remission of sins (Acts 2:38), a sinner and the washing away of sins “And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord” (Acts 22:16), a sinner and the death of Christ “Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death” (Romans 6:3). A sinner and the body of Christ “For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free and have all been made to drink into one Spirit” (1 Corinthians 12:13), a sinner and putting on Christ “For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ” (Galatians 3:27), and a sinner and being quickened with Christ “buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses” (Colossians 2:12-13). Obviously after reading those scriptures anyone should be able to see that baptism is an essential part of salvation.
Consider this: If to refuse John’s baptism was to “reject the counsel of God” (Luke 7:30), what about those who refuse the Lord’s baptism? Is their condition any better? God has given us a way to be saved, the question for each and every one of us to
ask ourselves are we going to follow that way? Ernie

Cookbook Planned! If there is interest among our members, a fourth
edition of our church cookbook is being planned. The elders will provide one copy per family. Additional books may be purchased, at cost, by those who may wish to give them as gifts or share them with friends and family.
Let one know of the elders’ wives know if you have an interest in this or sign up on the sheet on the bulletin board.
If we proceed we will solicit recipes from everyone. This is a time sensitive program, if we are to have
the cookbooks for holiday giving. (We have good cooks here. Let’s share our recipes!)
Pray for Those Who Serve this Church: Elders, Deacons, Minister, Teachers and Song Leaders Note: Remember their families also. Each of the above
need the support of their families to help them perform their duties and obligations to the congregationtot the
best of their abilities.
