Hi! I‘m LeAnne.
I received my first camera at the age of
14. It wasn't a particularly expensive
camera, but it was mine and I rarely
parted with it. I took pictures of
everything. Nothing was off limits;
Lightning from my backyard, water
flowing down a river, my beloved cat. But
mostlymostly people! My friends rarely saw me
without it and that was before everyone
had cell phones with a camera!
By the time I was15 years old I was an apprentice with an established studio in my
hometown of Stillwater, OK. Before starting my own studio I worked with top rated
studio’s in Oklahoma and Missouri . I attended OSU for a degree in Fine Arts and
OSU-Tech for Photography Technology. I officially opened my studio 4 years ago but
have been employed in the field or otherwise available to friends and family for
informal photoshoots for over 3 decades.
AtAt my studio, each session is created individually and rendered to a specific character
and style of every unique family. Sessions are planned with attention to details and
most importantly emotions between our clients. Combining my photography skills
with my formal training in art and design allows me to bring a unique style to your
finished prints. They often will have a “painterly” quality to them.
Each experience is created to allow kids to express themselves, to celebrate the
miracle of new life and for beautiful memories to be captured.

Planning your child’s session can seem stressful; but it doesn’t have to be! When selecting outfits and props for the day whether it be for your toddler, elementary age child or guiding your pre-teen and teen; all have same rules of thumb.
ComfortThis is the most important aspect when it comes to choosing the outfits (both physically and emotionally). If they are wearing a starchy shirt, an itchy sweater, or a dress that constricts; chances are they are going to be pulling, tugging, and adjusting themselves constricts; chances are they are going to be pulling, tugging, and adjusting themselves the entire session. Not only that, but their faces will show the story of the garments gone wrong if they are anything but completely comfortable in their clothes.
Also, no matter how comfortable the clothing physically; if they do not “like” the outfit the expressions will, in the end, be strained and forced. If there is one outfit that you really want but they are rebelling against it; allow your child to pick an outfit all by themselves and wear that to the studio. When kids first start expressing independence in clothing selection often they end up looking a bit like a little hobo but those pics are priceless! I will selection often they end up looking a bit like a little hobo but those pics are priceless! I will also in these circumstances take several tightly cropped images and the clothes end up being unnoticable . Your perferred outfit will be used as well but generally it is easier to acheive an outfit change with gentle persuasion after they become more comfortable with the whole process.
PersonalityThis is the area where your kids Shine and the possibilities are endless when it comes to styling children’s sessions. Your child’s personality will guide me to appropriate backdrops in styling children’s sessions. Your child’s personality will guide me to appropriate backdrops in studio and on locations. During your pre-session consultation this is the area I will research the most. As your child gets older they will be involved in this phase more and more. Here are some things to think about. Are they the type to analyze new situations then relax? Or are do they dive in head first and let the chips fall where they may? Would they be comfortable in an urban environment where strangers could see the shoot or would a private location be more suitable? What are their hobbies and interests? Are they involved in sports or the arts? What genre of music do they listen to? All this and more is essential in in sports or the arts? What genre of music do they listen to? All this and more is essential in personalizing the shoot.
Accessories and PropsI’ve done adorable portraits of children wearing hats, tiaras, scarves, and even fairy wings. If your child wears his Superman cape every day; bring it along! Any prop that highlights your child’s interests are fantastic. Musical instruments, sports equipment, collections, artwork, a favorite lovey or blanket, and books are a few items to consider.
