Always repeat the Cotton Picking Question – every time I mentor an instructor, people in the front of the class ask questions and I am in the back and I have absolutely no clue as to the question and when the instructor answers it, I am clueless, reaching for my newspaper to do the daily crossword puzzle. I get bored and a little upset because I feel I am not part of the class.

The best teachers are totally dedicated. They love their job and they have the ability to convince their audience that what they are teaching is deadly serious.
FIRST LECTURE, MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL Basics of Presentation – excellent do’s and don’ts
of teaching – I strongly encourage you to read frequently (throughout the semester) and grade yourself on these. Loud is better than quiet – slow is better than fast. Always be positive! – etc.

This document is extremely useful and lays out various aspects of your duties as an instructor. It also addresses the issue of grading and provides the suggested distribution of grades.
