Viral Technologies and Let’s Get Ready! team up for social good The ChallengeThe Chase American Giving Awards are the first ever celebrity tribute to community heroes. Chase is offering five charities an opportunity to share in $2 million in grants. To win the grand prize of one million dollars, the non-profit must receive the most votes on the Chase American Giving Award’s Facebook page.

One of those in the top five is Let’s Get Ready!, a non-profit organization based in New York City, that believes all students, regardless of socioeconomic background, should have the support they need to reach higher education. Let’s Get Ready! provides students with free SAT prep and college admission counseling. When they learned they would be competing in the American Giving Awards, they reached out to the team at Viral Technologies, a market intelligence company, and asked for their social media knowledge and resources to help win much needed funds for their organization.

The Opportunity Starting December 1st, 2011, social media users will be able to vote for their organization of choice once per day until the contest’s end on December 8th, 2011. The non-profit with the most Facebook votes by then, will win one million dollars for their organization, with the rest of the grant money being allocated to the four remaining finalists.

Viral Technologies will be using the social media monitoring and engagement tools of Radian6 to help Let’s Get Ready!, reach a broader audience across the social web.

The ResultsViral Technologies will be using Radian6 to find conversations and influencers, share information and engage with fans, all with the goal of helping Let’s Get Ready! connect with supporters across the social web and win the most votes. UpdateThe votes are in and on December 10th, Let’s Get Ready! won second place in the Chase Giving Awards and took home $500,000, to help students obtain post secondary education.

Here are some numbers from the recent social media campaign that Viral Technologies put together -

•Let’s Get Ready (LGR’s) Twitter Following increased by 10.3% over the course of the voting period (Dec 1-8)

•LGR’s Twitter Follower growth rate was 7% higher than the other four competitors who all gained followers at a rate less than 3%

•LGR’s Facebook Fans doubled over the course of the voting period (Dec 1-8)

•Mentions of LGR across the social web increased by 80% over the course of the voting period (mentions of their biggest competitor To Write Love On Her Arms only increased by 66%)
