From a Grateful Parent/Community Supporter: Dear Parents and Teachers, I wish to express my gratitude to all who have contributed to the provision of medicines to the Orphan-age. Also a special thanks to the anonymous parent who has supplied important medicines for one year!! —-Luisa Rizzo
FROM THE DIRECTOR:
Construction Update: Work has finally swung into a higher gear at
the new school site. Several parts of the project are occurring simultane-
ously. The company contracted to build the main structure and parking
area has been pouring concrete for the past few days. The construction
timeline calls for them to be finished with it by the end of summer, at
which time the roof will go on.
In the meantime, excavation work is continuing at other points of the 5.5-
hectare site. Soon, the sports fields and playground areas will be leveled,
and workers can gain momentum in preparing them for use. Check out
some photos of recent activity—page 4. ************************************************************

School Day Survey Results:
Parents (and teachers, too) overwhelmingly voted to leave the school day schedule as it currently is. So, we will continue with
a 7:55 opening bell, and a 3:15 dismissal. I thank those parents and teachers who gave their input toward this decision.
Recycling Guidelines:
We have been having trouble with our recycling program of late, and we are going to have to change the way we
do it. In brief, here are the new procedures:
Paper & Cardboard: Instead of depositing loose paper and cardboard in the recycling bin (under the cafeteria),
we will be bundling up the material with twine and putting the bundles in the bin.
Plastic: Plastic—especially bottles—need to be flattened and put in plastic bags before being deposited in the re-
cycling bin.
If you have been contributing paper, cardboard, or plastic bottles to our recycling program, I ask that you adopt the
new procedures. If you need twine and plastic bags, please see Gerta in the main office, and she will provide these
supplies for you.
One final note: We cannot recycle any other materials besides paper, cardboard, and recyclable plastic at this time.
Thank you for your help!
New IP Address for the TIS Library:
Because we have contracted with a different internet provider, beginning late last week, we have had to change the
IP address for the library.
Again, you can access the library research resources from home now. The new address is as follows:
http://109.69.4.153
