‘Futurism’ 1909-1920• ‘Futurism’ was a name given to the art which
was about movement, speed, confrontation, movement, team work and ‘Dynamism’.
• This style of artwork has a ‘wow factor’• It is characterised by the repetition of lines• Brilliant colours• Flowing brush strokes• The Illusion of Movement …….Dynamic. • The artist Umberto Boccioni was a futuristic style

Your Challenge. Use the photo copies of Gloucester rugby
players to produce your own ‘Futuristic’ style rugby drawing.
Look at the body positions, arms, legs, teamwork, movement, etc.!
• Your work will be called ‘The Dynamism of Rugby’ !
• When you have drawn your ‘composition’ colour them in using only red, white, and black.
Plenary• Each pupil presents their Futurist
compositions to the group.
