Thoughts for the week:
“If a small thing has the power to make you angry,
does that not indicate something about your
size?”

Prayer to UNLEASH THE GOSPEL through the Blessed Solanus Casey
Intercession:
O God, who inspired your priest Blessed Solanus in his humble service
as porter to invite many poor and afflicted to enter by the door of faith
to receive Your unfailing protection, grant we pray, that inspired by his
example we too, may be devoted heralds of the good news of Your
boundless mercy, and so come to join him for all eternity in thanking
You for the marvels You never fail to work for those who trust in You.

Receiving the Eucharist on your tongue:
With illness and weaken immune systems in our congregations
it is necessary to be mindful of an important step in preparing
ourselves to receive our Lord in the Eucharist.
When preparing to receive Communion on your tongue
please swallow as to eliminate the saliva (we do this to
protect those with low immune systems) which will limit
the passage of germs from one parishioner to the next.
Please note there is always the option of receiving the Holy
Eucharist in your hands.
*Advocates of Communion in the hand would point to its consistency
with ancient Christian practice. For example, St. Cyril of Jerusa-
lem encourages communicants to “make your left hand a throne for
the right, as for that which is to receive a King.”
