Specifications
Model:
Asus A450LD-WX105H A-Series Notebook
Display/Resolution:
14" 16:9 HD LED Glare panel
Processor:
Intel®Core™ i7-4500U Processor, 1.8GHz, 4MB Smart Cache, Max Turbo Frequency 3GHz
CPU:(pronounced as separate letters) is the abbreviation for central processing unit.Sometimes referred to simply as the central processor, but more commonly called processor, the CPU is the brains of the computer where most calculations take place. In terms of computing power, the CPU is the most important element of a computer system.
5
Operating System:
Genuine Windows® 8.1
An operating system is the most important software that runs on a computer. It manages the
computer's memory, processes, and all of its software and hardware. It also allows you
to communicate with the computer without knowing how to speak the computer's
language. Without an operating system, a computer is useless.
Chipset:
Intel® Chipset HM86
A chipset is a group of integrated circuits (microchips) that can be used together to serve a single
function and are therefore manufactured and sold as a unit. For example, one chipset might
combine all the microchips needed to serve as the communications controller between a
processor and memory and other devices in a computer.
6
Memory:
4GB DDR3 SDRAM
Memory is the electronic holding place for instructions and data that your
computer's microprocessor can reach quickly. When your computer is in normal operation, its
memory usually contains the main parts of the operating system and some or all of the
application programs and related data that are being used. Memory is often used as a shorter
synonym for random access memory (RAM). This kind of memory is located on one or more
microchips that are physically close to the microprocessor in your computer. The more RAM
you have, the less frequently the computer has to access instructions and data from the more
slowly accessed hard disk form of storage.
Hard Disk Drive:
1TB SATA
The hard disk drive is the main, and usually largest, data storage hardware device in a computer. The operating system, software titles and most other files are stored in the hard disk drive. A hard drive is usually the size of a paperback book but much heavier.
The sides of the hard drive have pre drilled, threaded holes for easy mounting in the 3.5 inch drive bay in the computer case. Mounting is also possible in a larger 5.25 inch drive bay with an adapter. The hard drive is mounted so the end with the connections faces inside the computer.
7
The back end of the hard drive contains a port for a cable that connects to the motherboard. The type of cable used will depend on the type of drive but is almost always included with a hard drive purchase. Also here is a connection for power from the power supply. Most hard drives also have jumper settings on the back end that define how the motherboard is to recognize the drive when more than one is present. These settings vary from drive to drive so check with your hard drive manufacturer for details.
Graphic Chipset: NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 820M with DDR3 VRAM
Stands for "Graphics Processing Unit." Like the CPU (Central Processing Unit), it is a single-
chip processor. However, the GPU is used primarily for computing 3D functions. This includes
things such as lighting effects, object transformations, and 3D motion. Because these types of
calculations are rather taxing on the CPU, the GPU can help the computer run more
effienciently.
8
Optical Drive: Super-Multi DVD
A disk drive is a randomly addressable and rewritable storage device. The term can be broadly
interpreted to include optical drives and in earlier times, floppy drives. However, in popular
usage, it has come to relate mainly to hard disk drives (HDDs). An optical drive in a computer
system allows you to use CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs to listen to music or watch a movie.
Most drives also allow you to write data to a disc, so you can create your own music CDs or
create of back-up copy of important data.
Card Reader: SD
Wireless: 10/100/1000 Base T BT 4.0 support (on WLAN+ BT 4.0 combo card)
Webcam: HD
Audio and Speakers: Built-in Speakers and Microphone
9
I/O ports:
USB 3.0 port(s), USB 2.0 port(s), RJ45 LAN Jack for LAN insert, SD card reader
I/O ports refer to input/output ports. These are connectors on your laptop that enable you to
connect to digital cameras, video cameras, televisions, external storage devices, printers and
scanners. The number and type of I/O ports will vary with the style of laptop and you will pay to
have more port options.
Battery: 4Cells 2950mAh
Power Adapter:
Output: 19 V DC, 3.42 A, 65 W
Input: 100 -240 V AC, 50/60 Hz universal
Alternatively known as an AC/DC adapter, AC converter orcharger, an AC adapter is an external
power supply used with devices that run on batteries or have no other power source. AC adapters
help reduce the size of a laptop computer by alleviating the need for a standard sized power
supply. As shown in the image, an AC adapter is made up of a central unit when draws power
from an outlet, and a second cord which plugs into the computer.
