STAAR surgical receives FDA approval for TORIC™

lens clinical study

Last November, STAAR Surgical Company (NASDAQ:­STAA) announced that it had received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to proceed with clinical testing of its new advanced intraocular lens (IOL) called the TORIC™ IOL, to be used in correcting pre­existing astigmatism in cataract patients. The TORIC™ IOL has a second optic superimposed on the underlying general optic zone which corrects for the astigmatism.

Olive-tip cannula provides atraumatic entry into anterior

chamber

VISITEC has introduced a curved olive tip cannula for maintaining or forming the anterior chamber during sur­gery. The 23 gauge 5147 Olive Tip Cannula has a smooth, rounded finish for atraumatic entry through the wound and into the anterior chamber. The cannula is curved for easier access to all areas of the anterior chamber. Irriga­tion is provided through the port at the tip of the cannula.

The 5147 Olive Tip Cannula is provided double sterile packed for ease of sterile transfer in the O.R. Five cannu­las per box.
