Day Itinerary (7 Days 5 Nights)

Day 1 Day 1 Hong Kong – Colombo Departure from Hong Kong to Colombo. At the arrival lounge your representative will welcome you and accompany you to the vehicle. Thereafter, transfer to the hotel.

Day 2

Colombo – Dambulla / Sigiriya (B, D) After Breakfast proceed to Dambulla/Sigiriya. En route visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. It is an orphanage for baby elephants set up by the department of National Zoological Gardens. The Orphanage was established to feed, nurse, and house young elephants found abandoned by their mothers. Other inmates are those found displaced from their natural environment by development projects or those found wounded. Later afternoon climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress famous for its frescoes of ‘Celestial Maidens’ is possibly the most impressive site in Sri Lanka.

Day 3

Dambulla – Kandy (B, D) After Breakfast proceed to Kandy. Visit spice plantation that grow a variety of spices such as cinnamon, pepper and nutmeg, for which Sri Lanka is renowned. Arrive and check-in to the hotel. Afternoon visit Peradeniya Botanical Gardens. The Peradeniya Botnical Gardens are amongst the finest in the world. Established in 1816, they expanded over 147 acres. Flanked by the Mahaweli river, these gardens house all the usual features such as an orchid house, a spice garden etc. Thereafter visit the Sacred Temple of the Tooth & witness a Kandyan cultural dance performance. Located in Kandy, long a center of the Buddhist faith, the stunning 17th-century Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) is believed to house the left upper canine tooth of the Lord Buddha himself. This precious relic attracts white-clad pilgrims, bearing lotus blossoms and frangipani every day. Thereafter, enjoy a Tradition Kandyan Cultural Show. Kandyan dancing and drumming is Sri Lanka’s iconic performing art, and you’re unlikely to spend long in the city without seeing a troupe of performers going about their (rather noisy) business, clad in elaborate traditional costumes, with dancers twirling, stamping and gyrating to a pulsating accompaniment of massed drumming.

Day 4 Kandy – Nuwara Eliya (Little England) (B, D) After breakfast, proceed to Nuwara Eliya. Enjoy a train ride from Peradeniya station to Nanu Oya station (subject to availability) or a scenic vehicle drive. In the afternoon, set in on a sightseeing tour including visit to a tea plantation and factory. Find out how tea leaves end up in a steamy hot cup.

Day 5 Nuwara Eliya – Ella – Yala / Udawalawe National Park (B, D) After breakfast, proceed to Tissamaharama via Ella. Ella is blessed with some of the most beautiful views you could find in Sri Lanka. The Ella Gap is no secret destination for many. In the afternoon, go on a private jeep safari in Yala / Udawalawe National Park.

Day 6

Yala / Udawalawe National Park – Galle – Colombo – Hong Kong (B, D) After Breakfast proceed to Colombo. En-route, set in on a sightseeing tour of Galle Fort and Ramparts. Galle Fort was first built by the Portuguese in the 16th century and then modified by the Dutch during the 17th century. Thereafter, proceed to Colombo, and take a sightseeing tour around Colombo City, the commercial capital of Sri Lanka. Your afternoon tour of this colorful city will take you from its noisy bazaars to its fashionable residential areas, passing places where grand colonial-era buildings stand alongside modern office structures. In the evening, enjoy a crab dinner then transfer to the airport and catch the flight back to Hong Kong.

Day Itinerary (8 Days 6 Nights)

Day 1 Hong Kong – Colombo Departure from Hong Kong to Colombo. At the arrival lounge your representative will welcome you and accompany you to the vehicle. Thereafter, transfer to the hotel.

Day 2

Visit the Dambulla Cave Temple which dates back to the 1st century BC in the afternoon. They are sited on a gigantic granite outcrop, which towers over 160m above the surrounding lands. The inside of the caves are completely covered by ancient frescoes of statues carved out of living rock, the largest of which is 15m long reclining Buddha.

Day 3

Dambulla / Sigiriya (B, D) After an early breakfast, enjoy a 3-hour trek at Hiriwaduna through this archetypal Sri Lankan village. The trek begins with an awesome walk along a bund of a Wewa or man-made reservoir. The reservoir itself, the surrounding scrub jungle, marshland and village are a hive of early morning activity. The amazing birdlife, butterflies and possible sightings of crocodile only add to the charm of seeing the villagers as they go about their early morning tasks of fishing, or washing clothes at the periphery of the lake. At the Chena cultivation you will stop to enjoy the farmer’s humble hospitality. Perhaps enjoy a drink of sweet King Coconut or some other seasonal fruit. Ride a waiting bullock cart, which will transport you through jungle and pass rice fields.

In the late afternoon, climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress famous for its frescoes of ‘Celestial Maidens’, possibly the most impressive site in Sri Lanka.

Day 4

Dambulla – Kandy (B, D) In the morning proceed to Kandy after breakfast. En-route, visit a Spice Garden in Matale. Enlighten yourself with the different variety of spices used in Sri Lankan cuisines, witness how the famous spices of Sri Lanka are grown and processed. Enjoy a complimentary 15 minutes Ayurveda massage.

In the afternoon visit Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, one of the finest in the world. Established in 1816, they have expanded over 147 acres. Flanked by the Mahaweli river, these gardens house all the usual features such as an orchid house and a spice garden. Then in the late afternoon, set on a brief City Tour of Kandy in a tuk tuk. Tuk Tuk” or sometimes called a “Three Wheeler”, a vehicle very popular in the Asia.

Afterwards, visit the Sacred Temple of the Tooth & witness a Kandyan cultural dance performance. Located in Kandy, a longtime center of the Buddhist faith, the stunning 17th-century Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) is believed to house the left upper canine tooth of the Lord Buddha himself. Thereafter, enjoy a Tradition Kandyan Cultural Show. Kandyan dancing and drumming is Sri Lanka’s iconic performing art (subject to the arrangements of local government).
