decisionsI wonder how many decisions

you make in just one day? Intruth, if you really think aboutit, we are making so many, sooften, it is hard to keep count.Sometimes they are easy decisionslike what to wear (dependent on theweather and the days events), whatto eat or what to watch on the TV (ornot watch).

Other decisions are more serious andshould take deeper thought and time,

like what path in education we shouldtake, what job we should apply for,who to marry, when to have childrenetc. These are not decisions weshould ever make in a hurry as theycan have a lasting impact on ourentire life.

Some people are naturalprocrastinators - spending hoursweighing up the pros and cons but intruth not really wanting to make a

decision at all. Others make snapdecisions without fully looking at theconsequences or effects on others.

Whichever camp you fall in - or maybeyou fall somewhere in between -decisions eventually have to be made.Jesus talked about two roads - onelarge and wide and the other smalland narrow (Matthew 7:13-14).Jesus said many are on the broad

road but ultimately it leads to

destruction but small is the gate andnarrow the path that leads to lifeand not everyone finds it.

Of course Jesus was referring topeople following Him, finding outthat real life comes not from doingour own thing, running off afterevery desire and ultimatelydiscovering none of it had meaning.Being in a relationship with Jesusmeans involving Him in ourdecisions, allowing Jesus to guide

us, direct us, bring wisdom into ourcircumstances and grow in ourunderstanding of who He is and justhow much He loves us.

Decisions become easier when wedont have to make them alone.Jesus cares deeply about every areaof your life, the small problems, thegreat joys, the things that make yousmile and the deeper issues thatcause you pain. The biggest

decision you can ever make is tochoose to follow Jesus.

Jesus chose you, the question iswhen you stand at the crossroads ofthe broad and narrow road - willyou choose the way that leads toHim? This is one decision you cantafford not to make. See you Sunday.

COMPASSION SUNDAYOn Sunday 13 October wehave Tim Robertson fromCompassion UK with us to

launch our very own NetChurch project in AddisAbaba, Ethiopia.

Tim will be bringing profiles ofchildren from this specificarea that are urgently lo okingfor sponsors. Please pray andcome prepared to help.

Following Roy and Keelys visit to Ethiopia this year wereally want to make a difference in th e lives of families andchildren in Addis Ababa. Children living in squalor andfilth, some are even living i n rubbish dumps where disease

is rife. Through sponsoring a child with Compassion youwill enable children living in extreme poverty to becomeresponsible, fulfilled adults who are educated and selfsufficient. You could also consider sponsoring a child aspart of a smaller group if you want to help but cantfinancially afford to sponso r 1 or 2 children alone.

Compassion not only help children but their work has adirect effect on the families, helping with food, medicalcare and skills training. A trip to actually see the need andmeet some of these families will be arranged in 2014.Together we can change the wo rld on e life at a time.

A l l a c r o s s o u rnat ion there areyoung men withouthope and withoutproper role models.Many end up in youngoffenders institutions. Werun a Christian mentoringprogramme wi th inRochesters YoungOffenders unit whichruns on 2 levels:-

Level 1 - we bringChristians into the prisonsto mentor the lads on aM o n d a y e v e n i n g(fortnightly).

Level 2 - we continuementoring when they

leave prison.

Do you want to getinvolved? You can bemale or female but youmust have been aChristian for at least 3years. Please email thechurch for more info forthe attention of RoyMorley and please pray forthis excellent ministry.

We are actively involvedin the Street Pastorsprogramme within ourtown. Street Pastors is aninter-denominationalChurch response toengage with people onthe streets to care, listenand talk. Our teams inDartford currently operateon Friday and Saturdayevenings in the centre oftown.

If you would like to getinvolved you will need arecommendation fromyour Pastors. Training isthen provided. You willneed a firm faith in J esus,the ability to connect withpeople from all walks of

Working together aschurches we can showHis love in action to thepeople in our town.

As part of our localChurches Together weare part of a food bankinitiative in our town.Since the launch earlierthis year the demand forfood has been steadilyincreasing. Can weappeal to everyone toreally support this foodbank by buying a fewextra items whenever youcan. Donation itemsneeded:
