By George StreatherSAVE THE GURKHAS
This is a political campaign
The purpose of this campaign is to stop the government cutting the Gurkha Regiment. The campaigners feel that it is unfair that the armed forces are not affected as much as
the Gurkhas and they are being targeted.
They want to stop the cuts of the Gurkha regiment as they will die out. If everybody sighs a sheet the government will
reconsider the cuts.
WHAT TYPE OF CAMPAIGN IS THIS?
This campaign was launched on the 9th of January 2012.
It was launched then because this is when the government announced the cuts to the Ghurkha regiment and sparked out rage.
WHEN WAS IT LAUNCHED AND WHY?
The Campaign has stretched into TV, radio, newspapers and they have created a
website for people to find out more about the campaign and to sigh up for it.
The more they advertise the campaign the more people will know about and there for
the more signatures they will receive.
WHAT CAMPAIGN TECHNIQUES HAVE BEEN USED?
The target audience for this is the general public of the UK. I believe this is the target
audience because the more people who sigh it, the more the government will take
action. This quote from there website: “The only
voice that speaks for them is the voice of a large number of British people who
understand and value their service” shows that Brittan are the only ones that can help.
WHO IS THE TARGET AUDIENCE?
They will measure there success through the amount of signatures they collect,
when they have received enough signatures they can show it to the
government.
What shows there success is if the government do not cut the Ghurkha
regiment.
HOW WILL THEY MEASURE THEIR SUCCESS?
