Proverbs 10 1 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.
This is not teaching that a mother is not glad when her son is wise; nor that a father is not
grieved when his son is foolish.
Both parents are affected the same.
3
A wise son or daughter (of God) is one who listens to sound teaching and lives life accordingly.
He or she is industrious, doing good work. ch6
Honest and upright in dealings.Chooses good friends and rejects those who would
lead him astray.
We have studied all of this in the first nine chapters of Proverbs.
4
A foolish person is undependable, can’t be trusted, rejects godly friends and the Way of God.
He doesn’t think ahead to the trouble he is chasing.
He is self-centered, thinking only of what he wants. He may not know it, but this
person is self-destructive, destroying his own life.

2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.
Ill-gotten gain may bring pleasure for a while, but does not bring lasting happiness or peace.
Ecclesiastes 5 12 The sleep of a laboring man is sweet, whether he eat little or much: but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep.
Ecclesiastes 5 18 Behold that which I have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion.

(NIV) 3 The LORD does not let the righteous go hungry but he thwarts the craving of the wicked.
Life is all about the Lord -- His salvation, His healing, His Provision, His Word, His Holy Spirit.
The righteous may not be wealthy, but his needs will be supplied abundantly and he will be content.
The wicked will always crave more, no matter how much he has.

4 He becometh poor (destitute) that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich (to accumulate).
There is more to diligence than working hard.
Working smart
Managing well
Looking ahead
Saving for future need
Looking ahead and preparing can include education, training, OJT
learning to do a job that’s worth something.

5 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.
When the Lord provides work to do, work hard.
A good worker will be early, dependable, eager.
When there is not work to do, improve your skill.
Prepare yourself for a better job than you can get now.

6 Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
This refers more to what he does, how he behaves,
Than to what he receives in life.
A righteous man speaks and gives blessings.
Galatians 5 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: …
This is the character God produces in the righteous.
10
A wicked man is all about violence:
He speaks words of violence;
His thoughts are violent;
His actions are violent.
Proverbs 16 32 He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.
11
But know this: blessing begets blessing
And violence begets violence.
Galatians 6 7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. … 9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Never give up; never quit.

Luke 6 31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
