HISTORYOFHEALTHITCERTIFICATION,LLCIn2004,membersoftheFacultyandAdvisoryBoardcreatedtheCertifiedProfessionalinHealthInformationTechnology(CPHIT)andCertifiedProfessionalinElectronicHealthRecords(CPEHR)programstoprovideconsistent,comprehensivetrainingtoleadersandkeystakeholdersinorganizationsinvolvedinplanning,selecting,implementing,andachievingvaluefromhealthinformationtechnology.Theprogramsweredesignedforindividualsofallbackgroundsworkinginthehealthcareindustry,astheyformteamstorepresentthemultipledisciplinesinvolvedinHITandEHRplanningaswellastheinfrastructureissuessurroundingconnectivityamongprovidersandwithothers.Akeycomponenttoimplementationsuccessisacommonbodyofknowledgeforallparticipantsintheprocesssotheymaycontributetowardachievingtheirenterprisegoals.

Assimilarneedstotrainpersonnelforhealthinformationexchangeemerged,theCerti-fiedProfessionalinHealthInformationExchange(CPHIE)programwaslaunchedin2008.In2012,inresponsetotheoperatingrulesrequirementsintheAffordableCareAct(ACA),theCertifiedProfessionalinOperatingRulesAdministrationwasdevelopedtoprovidetrainingandprofessionalcertificationforthoseindividualsresponsiblefortechnicalimplementation,workflowenhancement,andenhanceduseofoperatingrulesforHIPAAadministrativeandfinancialtransactions.
