  • NINE MUSICAL NUMBERS Notes 1st April (no joke!)

Firstly can I say that you have all worked so so hard on this complex music and it shows!

Here are a few notes from last night.

Act 2 seems a little more anxious than it actually is because we havent spent as much time on it. There is actually on

a fraction of the company singing in this Act compared with Act 1. My thoughts are that it just isnt under the belt

yet in that you cant see the picture. Maybe a few walk-throughs of Grand Canal will help. For myself, I discovered

last night that there are 2 pages of dialogue where I get to sit back however when that is over my fingers go to the

keyboard and dont stop until the bows!!!

UNUSUAL WAY working really well. Just watch Anne that you dont start to enjoy is so much that you pull the

tempo against me. It has settled into a nice pace. Lets make sure we dont stray from that. Anne and Marcus just

make sure that you dont come apart (sing at different times) at the end In a very unusual way..

GRAND CANAL The problem here in my own opinion is that you are still concentrating on the moves and the

shape of the overall number. Therefore this doesnt worry me. However just make sure that Jane and Celia arent

left on the Soprano line by themselves. Its too tempting to jump onto the Row me line.

CASANOVA Im actually quite surprised how well this has worked.

The remainder of the Act is basically solo numbers and can I just say that I think the soloists Marcus, Fiona,

Christina and the young boys are doing a sterling job on these difficult numbers.

REMEMBER the cheeky wee La la la la la La la la la la before Getting Tall.

REPRISES Enjoy this but watch the breathing its paramount to the overall feel of the piece. However you will

enjoy singing this as its the last number. You will be - CON-FI-DENTO!!! By that time.

Keep singing along in cars / showers / bedrooms / offices or wherever. Keep up the vocal work.

I will see you all on Sunday last Sunday was FABBY looking forward to another.

    Yay!! X
