Greetings Chaplains, Chaplain Assistants (clergy and layperson), Youth-Leaders, and all Youth-Members in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

Alleluia! Alleluia! We Rejoice for the Lord is Risen!

With the joyful atmosphere of Easter, we conclude the Forty Day Lenten Journey we took accompanying Christ. Throughout Lent, we prepared our souls for this day, where we rejoice because our Lord has triumphed and conquered death! We celebrate because He is indeed risen and is alive! The resurrection of Jesus Christ has occurred and He dwells among us forever, reclaiming life for all who believe in Him. However, to live this new glorious life with Jesus Christ, we must first die with Him. As St. Paul writes, "Don’t you already know that, when we were baptized into Christ, we were baptized into his death? … If we died along with Jesus, we believe that we will live forever with him." (Romans 6:3, 8) With the death of Jesus on the cross, our old self was crucified, died and the new self is risen in Christ. Therefore, we must look at our life and reflect to see if we are truly living a new life with Christ. As Christians and especially as members of TNTT, we are called to abandon the old sinful life and live a more saintly one, living fully in union with Jesus in the Eucharist by Living the Eucharistic Day each and every day. Living a new life in Jesus Christ is a continuous process. As we try to live a better life each day, we must ask the Holy Spirit, the same Spirit which raised Jesus from the dead, to change us from within to make us more like Him. Let us live a new life by practicing the virtues, abiding by Jesus’s teaching in the Gospel, and living as Jesus lived. In this Easter season, may we constantly pray for the help of God to resurrect our souls, so that we may live with a new spirit, a new self, and a new life in Christ. With the joy of Easter, I would like to wish our dear chaplains, chaplain assistants (clergy and layperson), youth-leaders and all youth-members a peaceful Easter season, full of grace and new life in Jesus’ Resurrection. Happy Blessed and Meaningful Easter!

WHAT WAS THE MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT IN TRAINING CAMP? There were so many! The one that stood out the most was when we participated in the Eucharistic Fire and acted out “The Good Samaritan.” This gave us a chance to work as a group, where each team member had input on how the skit should be acted out, what role each person should play, etc.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT BEING A TRợ TÁ? Spending time with TNTT members. It’s a great joy and feeling of achievement when the time spent with the children includes teaching lessons, making crafts, showing them how to visit Jesus, teaching them how to pray before and after meals, and showing them the ways of the Lord!

WHY DO YOU THINK OTHERS SHOULD ATTEND TRAINING CAMP? There are kids who don’t understand what it means to be Catholic. We need more Tro Tá to be involved with the teaching of our children. This training would help them understand what it means to be a part of TNTT and is a great opportunity for adults to expand their horizons!

WHAT TYPE OF PERSON WOULD BE THE IDEAL TRợ TÁ? The ideal Tro Tá: (1) Has a strong faith in God; (2) Believes in the teachings, works, and ethics of the Catholic Church; (3) Loves children; (4) Young at heart; and (5) Proud to spread the Lord’s words and teachings and share it with children.
