VI. Course Description: Micro 101 is a fundamental course in microbial study which will furnish the students with details relevant and applicable to their health-
related activities. The details would include concepts of microbial classification, physiology, pathogenicity and epidemiology. Such coverage, however, is limited to the structure of human immune system and how its components function as the third line of human defense against microbial infection.
VII. Course Objectives: Micro 101 prepares the students for work in a clinical environment. It is the aim of this course to inculcate in them the value of cleanliness
and safety as they will be more exposed to biologically contaminated environment and are thus more prone to infections and diseasesThis course also aims to come up with students who will be instruments in promoting a more stable public health conditionby practicing safety techniques and cleanliness to prevent and control the spread of communicable diseases caused by pathogens.
