The height of sophisticationThe main reception space is double height with a fully glazed gable, connecting with the landscape beyond.
The glazing is set into the building to provide a covered area with spectacular sliding doors to blur the boundaries between inside and outside. Views are afforded out into the landscape with double height glazing which is screened along the southeast elevation by a black timber brise soleil to prevent overheating in the summer.
From the outside, the effect during the daytime will be of a dark solid elevation, but during the evening, the building will glow through the timber slats. During the day, the shadows inside will have dynamic diurnal and seasonal patters and the eye will be drawn past the dark screen into the view of the landscape beyond.
