Abstract

Energyhasbecomeandplaysthemostsignificantpartofahuman'slife.Thetermenergyreferredhereisforelectricalenergy.Humanisalmostcompletelydependentonenergyforhisvariouspurposes.Todaythereareseveralwaysofgeneratingelectricityaspertherequirementusingseveralkindsof fuel likenuclearfuel,coal,gas,orhydroetc.Butall thesehavetheirowndireconsequencesanddetrimentaleffectsontheenvironment,someevenworsttohaveradiationthreatifleaked.Soasperthecurrentscenario,thereisaneedtodevelopsuchamethodwhichwillgenerateelectricitythatwillnotbeonlyeco-friendlybutalsocheap.

Thispaperdealswiththeconceptualdesignofrecentresearchgoingondevelopingsuchatechniquethatwillnotonlygiveeco-friendly but also a cheap form of electrical energy. Themechanism and technique incorporate the application ofmagnets(Neodymium magnet) and its repulsive property of magnetic force used for generation of continuous motion. The name“MagnetricGenerator”isacollaborationofmagnetsandelectricity.Thisgeneratorwillgenerateelectricitywithnobyproductremainingbehinditandwillcausenodetrimentaleffectsontheenvironmentandwillgiveelectricityatthecheapestratemakingitthebestfreeenergygenerator.Thepapercontainswell-detailedcontentoftheprincipleofoperation,constructionofgeneratoranditsactualworking.

1.Introduction

FreeEnergyistheenergywhichisgeneratedwithoutany additional capital investment except theinstallationcostoftheplanti.e.whichdoesnotcostforitsgenerationandisfreeoncetheplantisinstalled.Forexample, solar cells,wind tidal, geothermaletc.are the forms of free energy. Energy from thesesourcescanbegeneratedendlesslywithoutputtingany input which costs something i.e. the input iswidelyavailableinnatureandiseconomicallyfreetouse.

1.1Whyfreeenergyneeded?

Since the invention of the electricity, it has alwaysbeen generated by conventional ways only likethermal power plants, hydroelectric plants andnuclearpowerplants.But, these conventionalwayshavetheirownlimitationsanddrawbacks,oneofthemajor is they are hazardous and have detrimentaleffects on the environment like global warming,increasedthepercentageofcarbonandotherharmfulgasesandconstituentsreleasedintotheenvironmentbytheashandbyproductsleftoverbyburningoffuel.Therearemanyotherdrawbackslikehealthproblemsanddepletionofnaturalresourcesoffuellikecoal,oilandgaseswhichhavebroughtustoapointwhereweneedtothinkoutofthebox,tofindoutvariousother

waysofgeneratingelectricity.Thus,thisisthetimeweneed to work on the alternate ways of generatingelectricitywhichwillbeeco-friendly,cheaperforitsuse,hasnodetrimentaleffects,requirenoeconomicalinput once the plant is installed and can generateelectricity endlessly. Such energy we called as freeenergy.

1.2.What is free energy generator ormagnetricgenerator?

The concept of generating electricity frommagnetshasbeenaroundussincealongtime.Simplemagnetsare used in generators to generate electricity. Itconsists of a simple arrangement of conductor andmagnets and works on faraday 's law of electromagneticinduction.But,whohasthoughtthatthesamemagnetscanberearrangedinsuchaway,that a continuous motion can be obtained from itwhichfurthercanbeusedtodrivethegenerator.Yes,inthispaperyouaregoingtogetintroducedtoaverynew technique of generating electricity. This paperdealswiththeconstructionandworkingofadevice,whichisbasedonthistechnique.Moreprecisely,thistechnique is nothing but the application of therepulsive property of the magnets, as the basicprinciple behind its working. The device uses theworld's most powerful magnets i.e. Neodymium

magnets. A neodymium magnet (also known asNdFeB, NIB or Neomagnet), themostwidely usedtype of rare-earth magnet, is a permanent magnetmadefromanalloyofneodymium,ironandborontoformtheNd2Fe14Btetragonalcrystallinestructure.Neodymium magnets are the strongest type ofpermanentmagnetcommerciallyavailable.

Wehavenamedthisdeviceas“MagnetricGenerator”,becauseitisacollaborationofthemaincomponentusedforgenerationandtheoutputofthedevicei.e.magnetsandtheelectricity.

This generator is first of its kind. It is cheaper ascomparedtotheconventionalsourcesofenergyandovercomes the drawbacks related to the other freeenergy sources. Now further, you will see all thetechnicalities,construction,working,advantagesandapplicationofthisgenerator.

2.BasicComponents

2.1. Neodymiummagnets:

Aneodymiummagnet(alsoknownasNdFeB,NIBorNeomagnet),themostwidelyusedtypeofrare-earthmagnet,isapermanentmagnetmadefromanalloyofneodymium, iron andboron to form theNd2Fe14Btetragonalcrystallinestructure.Neodymiummagnetsare the strongest type of permanent magnetcommerciallyavailable[1][3].

2.2. MagneticWheel/Rim:

Magneticwheelorrimisthebasicandmostimportantpartof thegenerator. It consistsof theNeodymiummagnetsspecificallyarrangedinsuchamannerthattheirrelativepositionwillcauseacontinuousmotion.It is made of non-ferrous material. The wholeassemblyismountedonasplinedshaft[2][6][4].

2.3. Splinedshaft:

Splinedshaftisusedtoholdtheassembly.Itallowstheinnerwheel tomove in thedirectionparallel to theaxisoftheshaft.Itholdsthemagneticwheel,flywheelandgear.

2.4. DualMassFlywheel:

Dual mass flywheel is the newest kind of flywheelhavingsomespecificarrangementofspringandmasssuchthatalongwithreducingthefluctuationitalsoincreasestherpmhence,itisused[5][7].

2.5. Helical Gears: Helical gear arrangements areusedtotransmitthepowerfromsplinedshafttothegeneratorshaftwithrequiredincreasedtorque.

2.6. Generator: It is a simple motor or generatorused for generation of electricity, just like used inotherpowergenerationunits.

2.7. Retardingdevice/Brakes:Thisunithelps tocontrolthemotionoftherotatingwheeli.e.ithelpstostopthewheel'srotationwhenitisnotneeded.

2.8. Base: It is a flat surface which supports thewholeassembly.

3.Construction

Thebasicmodelofthemagnetricgeneratorconsistsof theabove-mentionedcomponents.A setof threemagneticwheelsismountedonasplinedshaft.Theshaft is supported by three bearings to allow itssmooth rotation. The springmass flywheel and thehelicalgeararealsomountedonthesplinedshaft.Asetofgearsorgeartrainisarrangedinsuchawaythatthepowerwillbetransmittedtothegeneratorshaftwithrequiredincreasedtorque.Theouterperipheryofthemagneticwheelismountedonsupportsinsuchamannerthattheaxisoftheouterrim,innerrimandthe shaft should coincide. All this assembly inmountedonthebase.Theouterrimisattachedtothebrakeassembly.Thebrakeassemblycanbeoperatedby a lever. It slides or moves the outer rim of themagnetic wheel to break the magnetic contactbetweeninnerandouterrimresultinginreductionofrpmandultimatelycomingtohalt.

The outer and inner rims aremade of non-ferrousmaterialsoastoavoidanykindofmagneticattractionbetweentherimandthemagnets.Theouterandinnerrimsaredesignedinsomespecificwaysothatwhenmagnetsareplacedinsidethemcanrepeleachotherproperly and are separated by a gap of fewmillimeters.Themagnetsintheinnerrimareplacedinsuchamannersuchthatthemagneticfieldorthelinepassingthroughthecenterofthemagnetsshouldact as a tangent to the imaginary circle passingthroughtheircenter.Similarly,themagnetsplacedinouterrimaretiltedbysomespecificanglesoastogetamotionby repulsive force.Themagnets inboth therimsareplacedinsuchamannerthat,thesamepoleswillfacetoeachother.Asetofsuchmagnetsisplacedall over the rim. The following figure shows thearrangementofthemagneticwheelandthecompletesetupofthegenerator.

4.Working

Theworkingofthegeneratorstarsfromitsmagneticwheelwhichistheheartofthegenerator.Theouterrim of the wheel is stationary and is fixed andsupported by the brake assembly mounted on thebase.Thearrangementofthemagnetsasmentionedin the construction ismade is such away that thesimilarfacesofmagnetsintheouterrimandtheinnerrim should face each other to cause repulsion. It isclearfromthefigure5andfigure6,thenorthpolesarefacedtowardseachothertocauserepulsion. Inboththerims,themagnetsareplacedslightlytiltedatsomespecificangletogivethedirectionofrotation.Whenthe magnet in the inner rim comes in the strongmagnetic field of the outer rim magnet, a force ofrepulsionactsonboththerims.Theouterrimisfixedandstationarybuttheinnerrimbeingfreetomove,thisrepulsioncausestheinnerrimwhichismountedontheshafttorotateatsomeparticularspeed.Theshaftissupportedbybearingsupport.Theinnerrimisfixedtotheshaft.Soastheinnerrimwillrotatetheshaftwillalsorotate.

Therewillbeasmallfluctuationinspeedofrotationdue to the spacing between the magnets. Thisfluctuationisneededtobeeliminatedbecauseitwillcause fluctuation in power generated. To eliminatethisfluctuation,flywheelwithsomemodifieddesignismountedontheshaftsothatitwillalsoincreasethespeedofrotationoftheshaft.Thedualmassflywheelismadewithanarrangementofspringandweight,whichonrotationhelpstoincreasetheangularspeedhenceitincreasestherpmofshaft.Further,ahelicalgeartrainismountedontheshaft.Helicalgearsareusedherebecauseofitsadvantagesoverothergears.Ageartrainisattachedtotheassembly.Thegeartrainhasanarrangementofgearswithdifferentgearratios.Itisusedtoincreasethetorquetoarequiredleveltodrivethegenerator.Finally,thepoweristransmittedtotheshaftofthegenerator.Astheshaftofgeneratorrotates,theelectricitygetsgeneratedwhichisfurthercaneitherbestoredorcanbeuseddirectly.Also,thevoltagecanbeincreasedbyimplementingavoltagebooster.

Advantages

1) Works in all types of weather conditions:Generallytheotherfreeenergysourceslikewindand solar energy alternatives rely much onnaturalphenomena.Butmagneticgeneratorcancontinue to perform well without dependinguponweatherconditions.

2) Safer to use: Evidently, the user is concernedwith the safety of power generators. Being

simple in construction and user-friendly, themagneticgeneratorissafertouse.

3) Fitsinasmallspace:Smallinsizeitcanfitevenina small, condensed place. Thus, this magneticgenerator can be used anywhere and are bestsuitedforhouseholdpurposes.

4) Minimummaintenancecost:Oncethismagneticgenerator is installed, itcanoperateefficientlywithoutanyproblemsforlongperiodsoftime.Additionally,thereisnoneedtocheckthemonaregular basis and extra cost for generatormaintenancecanbeavoided.

5) Ability to reduce thepowerbill:Themagneticelectrical generator can reduce power bill byabout fifty percent. Thus, it is one of the bestreasonsforanybodytohaveamagneticelectricalgeneratorinstalledathome.

6) Easeinconstruction:Majorityofpeoplefinditeasytobuildamagneticelectricalgeneratorbythemselves. Before constructing, one needs toabidebyandunderstandthestep-by-stepguideavailableontheinternet.Thewholeprocessofconstructionwould take about fewhours, andresources required for construction can beavailedfromahardwarestore.

7) Ecofriendly: Being purely operational onmagnets,itdoesnotuseanykindoffuelhencereleases no emissions or harmful gases orconstituentsintheenvironment,whichmakesitcompletelyeco-friendly.

8) Areaofuse:Itcanbeusedanywherebecauseofits small size and no requirements workingconditions.

Applications

1) It can be used as a separate power-house inhomes whichmay help in reducing electricitybills.

2) It canbeusedasa sourceofpower in remoteareas,whereelectriclinesaren'tworking.

3) Itcanbeusedinspaceasanalternatesourceofpower while sending satellites for distinctoperations.

4) It can be used as a power house of remotelyoperatedvehiclesinunderwateroperations.

5) It can be used in unmanned aerial vehiclesoperatedonelectricpower,whichwillincreasetheflighttimeoftheaircraft.

6) Itcanbeusedinautomobilevehiclestopowerthe electrical system,whichwill eliminate theneedofreplacingorchargingthebatteryagainandagain.

5.FutureWorkandConclusion

Inthispaper,byintegratingthebasicsofageneratorandamotor,wesuccessfullyhaveanewerconceptoffreeenergygeneratorwhichrunsonalmostnoinput&givesavaluableamountofelectricenergywhichcanbe used for many purposes. This is a conceptualdesignoffreeenergygenerator.Infuturewithsomemoremodificationandcalculations,aworkingmodelwill be introduced. The paper revolves around theconstruction,working&applicationsof freeenergygenerator&itsfutureenhancements.Thisdesignmayprovetobeapioneerinthefieldofresearchoffreeenergyandcanleadtorevolutionarychangesintheenergy field. Now it is possible to generate freeelectricity.Thisishowmagnetshavebeenwithuseversince we started generating electricity usingconventionalsourcesofenergy.
