Hearty Cabbage Soup1 head cabbage, thinly sliced1 large onion, diced1 lb. sausage (mild or spice)1 T. oil8 Cups Water2 T. Better than Bouillon (Beef Flavor) cup tomato catsupSpices to taste

Brown sausage and onion in 1 T. oil. Add cabbage and stir until cabbage softens. Mix bouillon with 1 cup of the water to dissolve and add to the sausage/cabbage mixture. Add the rest of the water and catsup. I usually add 1 tsp. black pepper, salt to taste and a little onion powder. Sometimes, red pepper flakes. This is a very hearty, and tasty soup. Serve with cornbread.
