Brief on Ghana’s PPP Policy
• The naGonal policy on PPP was approved by Cabinet in June 2011 and launched in October 2011.
• The policy caters to the various challenges that faced the private sector in approaching PPPs
• For instance the policy addresses key issues such as: -‐ the criGcal role of the various MDAs to be involved in the approval process of PPP projects. -‐ a clear separaGon of the roles of PPP Advisory and PPP Monitoring Teams
-‐ risk sharing and management profile -‐ scope of PPP Projects and guiding principles

In line with this, the World Bank conGnues to support the government of Ghana to prepare the legal framework systems and build the capacity of relevant bodies for the adopGon of PPP as a major strategy to
finance public infrastructure

• PPP projects are selected from sectors which have been idenGfied within the NaGonal Infrastructure Plan (NIP)
• To improve the credibility and transparency at all phases of the project development the input of both government and the private sector are assessed
