BAPTISMS
A MESSAGE FROM FATHER RICH
Since my arrival at the parish, I have been attending the Youth Conference in Steubenville with our high school students. It is a very spiritual experience for them and one that has been a spiritual time for me as well. A major highlight of the retreat for me is the Saturday night service which is a time for Eucharistic Adoration. Another highlight is the large amount of students who take the time to participate in the sacrament of reconciliation. Last year over 3,000 confessions were heard! Please pray for all the students attending the conference next weekend.
In my absence next weekend, Fr. Elvis from the diocese of Kumbo will be here to speak on behalf of the Missionary Cooperation Plan.
Have a great week.
~ Father Rich

OUT AND ABOUT
DEACON NEAL’S REFLECTION CORNER
"Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart." A yoke is something that you would put on oxen to pull a wagon or some kind of work. Normally there are two working together. So Jesus uses this illustration to say that we should take up our yoke and let Jesus take the other side. With him helping, any burden or hardship that we bear, is much lighter.
In this Gospel quote he says to take up your yoke and learn from him. That is why he came; to show us how to live and to love. His yoke was the cross and he accepted it with a meek and humble heart. It's not easy to do but as Jesus says, "Learn from me."
Ask God today to give us the grace to be open to the mes-sage that he wants to teach us.
God bless you all!!
- Deacon Neal
IN YOUR PRAYERS
