history of Apple, beginning in 1972
when he graduated from Homestead High
School in Cupertino, California
Steve Jobs, the visionary founder andleader of Apple Computer Corporation,
died Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at the
age of 56 after an 8-year battle with a rare
form of pancreatic cancer.
He was the chairman and chiefexecutive officer (CEO) of Apple. His
career spans 30 years as the Apple Inc.

Issue : Case was filed on Apple in relation to i-Tunes software for its
monopoly in market.
Real Networks created music files which could be played on i-Pod
software, bypassing the i-Tunes.
Action : Apple reworked its software so as to keep Real Network out
of their device. In order to maintain the copyrights and also to work
out in the favour ofplaintiffs, Apple lowered its prices for the i-
Tunes Tracks.

product in market. Accordingly a case
was filed by plaintiff on Apple. Action: Apple never admitted the
fault. In order to work in the favour of
Plaintiff, Apple decided that eligible
members were entitled to have the
extended warranties, store credit, cash
compensation or battery replacement.

Issue: Independent Apple re-sellers filed a Lawsuit against
the company alleging
misleading advertising
practices and unfair businesspractices. Apple was claimed
to favour only Apple Stores by
providing them special
discounts.
Action: In order to save its image and have a settlement
with all plaintiffs, Apple started favouring the independent
resellers by offering them the discounts and treated them
equally as like the Apple Stores.

Issue(2010) : Apple Incorporation fileda patent infringement suit against HTC
on 2nd, March 2010 at the which was
related to Data tapping patent. The suit
involved 20 alleged patent infringements
relating to the iPhone's, underlyingarchitecture and hardware.
Action : On legal basis, Apple won a patent ruling against
HTC, according to which it will be able to ban some of the
HTCs phones from U.S. Import. The ban wont take effectuntil April 19, 2012 and is subject to an appeal by HTC as
well as final review by President Obama.

Issue(2008) : Apple filed a lawsuitagainst Psystar alleging the former
sold Intel-based systems with Mac
OS pre-installed and that in so
doing, violated Apple's copyright
and trademark rights and thesoftware licensing terms of Apple's
shrink wrap license
Action : The district courts gave its judgment in favor of
Apple and also district courts orders granting Applesmotion to seal litigation documents are vacated and
remanded for further consideration.
