Presenter: John Rowbotham Title: From PE to Athletics, You Decide How You Want to Run the Program Room: 1 Description: Our BFS Total Program is geared toward athletic development for all sports and all athletes, boys and girls. For 40 years this system has been easy to run on our Set Rep Log Books. Athletes drive their own progress by setting and keeping records of lifts, reps, weight and performance records such a 20 and 40 yard

sprint. Many coaches however are looking for a system that runs itself so BFS has developed our “Beat The Computer” software. This works on a steadily increasing percentage based system that encourages young

athletes to “beat the computer” by exceeding the weekly, computer generated, workouts. This year we have

introduced two new platforms for an internet connected weight room. The Set Rep Log App is our cloud based program the works across almost any device. This App captures all the records and criteria that the Log Books do and then displays these results in the app for the PE teacher or coach. Whether for a class or team, keeping track

of your students progress keeps your goals on track. We have introduced a partnership with TrainHeroic to bring a fitness/introductory workout to PE teachers looking for a simple class to expose their physical education students to the weight room. This 4 week, beginning level, workout unit will expose students to a wide variety of weight room exercises and equipment paving the way for lifelong fitness opportunities. With built in recording

this app makes grading a breeze.BFS will cover these various methods of recording progress and help you find the right solution for class or team. Presenter: Rae lamp Title: Keeping Our Kids Safe: Brain Injury is More than Sports Concussion Room: 2 Description: Traumatic Brain Injury is the #1 cause of death and disability among children and youth! According to Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in 2012, an estimated 329,290 children (age 19 or younger) were treated in U.S. EDs for sports and recreation-related injuries that included a diagnosis of concussion or TBI. From 2001 to 2012, the rate of ED visits for sports and recreation-related injuries with a diagnosis of concussion or TBI, alone or in combination with other injuries, more than doubled among children (age 19 or younger). Learn how to prevent, recognize and work with any Brain Injury, ranging from sports concussions to automobile accidents, infections to strokes. After hearing this presentation, participants will better understand Brain Injury and will be better prepared to recognize it and care for those who experience it. Participants will also gain knowledge of the free services offered through the Brain Injury Alliance of Washington (BIAWA) which are not only of great value to families but also the professionals who interact with these families.
