GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS
Steel double-wave road barriers are intended to increase security in highways and reduce the severity of accidents.
The double wave road barriers manufactured by Tecnovial work like a great continuous beam supported by bearings (posts) which are separated according to typologies and regulations in force, and the Manual of Highways as well as standard NCH 2123 of. 99.
Tecnovial road defenses are manufactured in hot galvanized steel, which gives them greater durability and resistance.
Tecnovial has an integrated management system which have been certified according to ISO 9001: 2008 Quality, 14001: 2004 ISO Environment, and OHSAS 18001: 2007 Occupational Health and Safety standards.
MAIN SYSTEM COMPONENTS
Post
It is a component that works with the separator and the handrail; it is installed by driving, and it is the support of the barrier. It has the capacity to deflect and change its position as the energy absorption capacity of the set is depleted. Its function is to maintain the height of the barrier.Separator
Its function is to separate the vehicle’s wheels from the posts during an impact. It allows to keep the barrier at a constant height and in contact with the vehicle as the posts are leaned by the impact.

DOUBLE WAVE BARRIERS
Advantages
The use of road barriers prevents derailed vehicles from getting out of the highway.
Dividing barriers prevent vehicles from crossing the separating strip between opposite ways of a highway and to cause frontal collisions.
Side road barriers reduce the severity of accidents by preventing vehicles from entering hazardous areas and where they can cause major damage to properties and people. They also redirect vehicles without control in the direction parallel to the movement of traffic, thus reducing the danger to other following vehicles or that goes in parallel lanes, minimizing the risks for vehicle occupants during an impact.
Handrail
It is the element that makes contact with the vehicle; its function is redirecting the vehicle and in a large extent absorbing the kinetic energy of the impact.
Rail
It is a part of the barrier in the shape of a metal profile of the channel type; it is parallel to the rail and at 20 cm from the ground for triple wave barriers to prevent wheels of smaller vehicles from engaging with the posts during the impact.

FUNCIONAMIENTO DE LA BARRERA
Usos
Las defensas camineras de doble onda, se utilizan principalmente en autopistas, carreteras y caminos hacia faenas mineras, constituyendo un elemento de seguridad vial fundamental para aminorar la gravedad del impacto de un automóvil.
Las tipologías de defensas doble onda, logran niveles de contención liviano y medio.
Nivel de Contención Liviano
urbanas, donde existe predominio de vehículos livianos, que se desplazan a una velocidad máxima de 60 kmph. También es recomendado su uso como elemento de segregación para impedir el viraje de vehículos.
Nivel de Contención Medio
Recomendado para vehículos livianos que se desplazan a alta velocidad (menor o igual a 80 kmph), taxibuses y camiones de eje simple menores a 8 toneladas, operando a velocidad media de 70 a 80 kmph.

Applications
The double wave road barriers are mainly used on highways, roads and paths to mining operations constituting a fundamental road safety element to reduce the severity of the impact for a car.
The types of double wave barriers achieve levels of light and medium containment.
Light Containment Level
It is used on roads defined as paths and streets in urban areas where there is a predominance of light vehicles travelling at a maximum speed of 60 kmph. Its use is also recommended as a segregation element to prevent the turn of vehicles.

Medium Containment Level
