who we are
la cenerentola, la fenice 2004
bryan evans and anne marabini young formed diva opera in 1996 to get chamber opera out of the confines of the theatre and bring it to unique and intimate settings at an affordable price.
Having worked as musical director in over 2000 chamber opera performances, bryan evans brings his unparalleled experience and commitment to make each of our productions as unforgettable as they are boldly imaginative.
With outstanding performances from both well-known singers and a host of gifted younger performers – all accompanied by piano – we are a showcase for some of the best in contemporary talent.
as an independent company, diva opera is able to attract and work with the broadest range of musical and artistic talent, allowing each production to be vibrant and unique.
With three new productions annually for individual, charitable and corporate entertainment, we maintain our versatility and commitment to reinvigorating classic works for today’s audiences.
each of our productions and concert programmes is tailored to individual requirements and we will work with clients to provide a memorable experience.
We perform regularly in the uK, france, Switzerland and the channel islands and as far a field as Sweden, Greece, Slovenia, russia and Japan.
‘I HAD THE MOST WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE WITH THE COMPANY OF DIVA OPERA, AND WITNESSED THEIR SPLENDID PERFORMANCE OF LA CENERENTOLA AT LA FENICE. BRAVISSIMO! A TERRIFIC ORGANIZATION.’

how we work
die Zauberflöte 2005
diva opera works best in intimate settings – all that we need is a large room that can hold 150–200 people around its edge. We will do the rest. Surrounded by the audience, all the drama and passion of great opera is brought spectacularly to life.
We require a performance space of only 4 metres by 6 metres (12 feet by 18 feet) – with adjacent space for a grand piano. a room of only 8m by 13m (26ft by 78ft) holds an audience of approximately 150; a room of 12m by 24m (39ft by 78ft) holds an audience of 300.
accompaniment is provided by bryan evans, who was awarded an mbe in 1993 for his commitment and contribution to music and opera.
our cast of singers varies between five and fifteen and they have experience in working with many of the best opera houses, including: Glyndebourne festival opera, the royal opera covent Garden, english national opera, Scottish opera and opera north, as well as various continental opera houses.
our performances last from one hour to just over two hours with intervals that can be varied from twenty minutes to an hour.
We are more than happy to provide shortened productions based on clients’ needs.
our experienced team are also able to advise on suitable local venues and we will of course tailor each performance to both client and environment.
our costumes and sets are designed to the highest standard for each individual production.
