Dear Prospective Volunteers:
The Hatboro-Horsham School District values its volunteers, and the worthwhile services they provide to
benefit the children in our schools.
The collective safety, health, and well-being of those who enter our buildings, and work with our
students, is of the upmost importance. Therefore, volunteers who support our students will be asked to
adhere to the same standards as our staff, when on site.
• Volunteers will be asked to present their valid vaccination record.
• If you cannot provide proof of your vaccination status, you will be asked to produce a negative
COVID-19 test result, completed within 48 hours of your visit.
• Volunteers are required to wear a mask while in our schools.
In addition, Pennsylvania law requires all persons having direct contact with school children to obtain
background checks and clearances. Therefore, the Hatboro-Horsham School District requires the
submission of these clearances prior to volunteering.

Who can help? All Crooked Billet Families
This year our third grade classes are promoting a nationwide program called “Socktober.” This program was born from the idea that giving something as simple as a pair of socks can change someone’s day. We will collect adult socks during the month of October and donate them to the nonprofit organization Helping the Homeless. Please help by donating unused, packaged adult socks. Our third graders will visit classrooms weekly to collect all the socks and get a total count before we donate them. Every sock will help someone in need for the winter! Let’s do a great thing and help as many people as we can! The time to be awesome is now!
Symptom Screening
COVID-19 Symptoms Individual should be tested for COVID-19. • If test result is negative OR doctor’s note with differential diagnosis, return to school after 24 hours afebrile and improved respiratory symptoms (refer to PA
HAN 548 for interpretation of Antigen (rapid) tests performed under the supervision of a medial provider).• If test result is positive or individual is unable/refuses to get tested, may return to school after:
24 hours with no fever and Improvement in symptoms and 10 days since symptoms first appeared
Positive COVID-19 PCR or
Antigen (Point of Care) Test
WITH SYMPTOMS
May return to school after: • 24 hours with no fever AND• Improvement in symptoms AND• 10 days since symptoms first appeared
WITHOUT SYMPTOMS
May return to school after: • 10 days after specimen was collected
If symptoms develop during the 10 days, follow return to school guidance for positive PCR or Antigen test WITH symptoms
Close Contact to Positive**
• Within 6ft for 15 minutes or more• Household contact
Exception: In the K–12 indoor classroom setting only, the close contact definition excludes students who were within 3 to 6 feet of an infected student (laboratory-confirmed or a clinically compatible illness) where:• Both students were engaged in consistent and correct
use of well-fitting masks and• This exception does not apply to teachers, staff, or
other adults in the indoor classroom setting.
**If testing resources are sufficient, close contacts should be tested regardless of symptoms. If an unvaccinated individual is tested, regardless of the reason, they should stay home and isolate until the results are back.
WITH SYMPTOMS
Individual should be tested for COVID-19
May return to school after: • 24 hours with no fever AND• Improvement in symptoms AND• 10 days since symptoms first appeared
WITHOUT SYMPTOMS
Quarantine can end 10 days after exposure without testing OR after 7 days with a negative PCR or antigen test (must be collected on day 5 or thereafter).• Household contacts may require
further investigation todetermine dates of quarantine.
The most protective quarantine is 14 days post exposure.
Recommended symptom monitoring until day 14. If symptoms develop during this time, follow return to
school for Close Contact withsymptoms.
COVID VACCINATION EXCEPTION
People who are vaccinated against COVID-19 do NOT need to quarantine after an exposure to another person with COVID-19 if they meet ALL of the following criteria:• They are fully vaccinated (i.e. ≥2 weeks following receipt of the second dose in a 2-
dose series, or ≥2 weeks following receipt of one dose of a single-dose vaccine) AND• They have remained asymptomatic since the current COVID-19 exposure.Fully Vaccinated should get tested 3-5 days after a known exposure AND wear a mask inpublic indoor settings for 14 days OR until they receive a negative test result.• If they test positive follow guidance for Covid-19 Positive Test and isolate• If they develop Covid-19 symptoms, repeat testing is recommended and follow sick policy
• A negative diagnostic test MAY rule out Covid-19, in consultation with MCOPH.
SARS COV-2 ANTIBODY TEST OR RECENT INFECTION EXCEPTION
People who recently test positive for SARS-CoV-2 antibodies (documented test for IgM or IgG) DO NOT need to quarantine in low-risk situations if specific criteria is met and person exposed is asymptomatic. Consultation with MCOPH to release from quarantine.
People who had a positive diagnostic test for Covid-19 within the last 3 months before their exposure do not need to quarantine if they remain asymptomatic.
• Two of the following: fever (measured or subjective),chills, fatigue, myalgia, headache, sore throat,congestion or running nose, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea

• One of the following: cough, shortness of breath, difficultybreathing, or new loss of taste or smell (click here for full CDC list)

Title I funds to assist students in meeting state achievement standards. This letter serves to inform you of
your right to request information about the qualifications of the classroom staff, working with your chi ld.
At Blair Mill, Crooked Billet, and Hallowell Elementary, we believe our teachers are prepared to give your
child a high-quality education. As Title I schools, we must meet federal regulations related to teacher
qualifications as defined in ESEA. These regulations allow you to learn more about your child's teachers'
training and credentials. We are happy to provide this information to you. At any time, you may ask:
• Whether the teacher met state qualifications and certification requirements for the grade level and
subject he/she is teaching,
• Whether the teacher received an emergency or conditional certificate through which state
qualifications were waived, and
• What undergraduate or graduate degrees the teacher holds, including graduate certificates and
additional degrees, and major(s) or area(s) of concentration.
You may also ask whether your child receives help from a paraprofessional. If your child receives this
assistance, we can provide you with information about the paraprofessional's qualifications.
The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) which was signed into law in December 2015 and reauthorizes the
Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1956 (ESEA) includes additional right to know requests. At
any time, parents and family members can request:
