Powercrete Plus produced by our Lichtenburg CementWorksisaCEMII/A-M(V-L)42,5RPortland-compositecementformulatedfromPortlandcementclinkerandqualitysiliceousflyash,aswellasfinelyground,highpuritylimestoneandastrength-enhancingadditive.

TheformulationforPowercrete Plus produced at our Richards BayGrindingStationisbasedonPortlandcementclinkerandqualitysiliceousflyash,togetherwithastrengthenhancertoachieveaCEMII/A-V42,5RPortland-flyashcement.

Scope for extension:Extensive trials have demonstrated the potential for further cement replacementwithanadditional15%upto30%DuraPozz®or30%upto50%slag(GGBS).

Reduced water demand:Typically,thewaterdemandofaconcretemixmadewithPowercrete Plus is reducedbybetween2%and5%comparedwithaCEMIclass cement. The reduction depends on a number of factors inadditiontotheamountofflyashinthecement.

Lower heat of hydration: Powercrete Plus contributes to lower temperatures inmass concrete. Peaktemperaturesarealsoatalaterage,resultinginmorematureconcrete.A typical value forHeat ofHydrationdetermined in accordancewith EN196-9is227J/gat41h,makingPowercretePlusalowheatcommoncement(<270J/g).

Powercrete Plus is formulated to meet the high, good early strength requirementsofspecialisttechnicalapplications. This isofparticularbenefitinapplicationssuchaspost-tensioningofprestressedbeams.
