Semiars/Lectures
• The program over the four days is divided into sessions, with a number of lecture/seminar/courses choices available for each session.
• Some courses will be multi-part.• Often, the first day of the conference has
all-day tutorials.
• Each student must select in advance your seminar choices, which will be entered by computer by Wanda when she makes your conference reservation.

Seminar/Lectures
• You can change your choices in advance, or at the conference.
• Generally, I have no trouble attending different lectures and sessions than what I originally signed-up for.

Trade Show
• Allow some time to view the exhibits/vendor booths. These can be fairly educational, and give you an idea of the state-of-the-art, and industry directions.

Small Paper
• Keep in mind:• You will need to write a small paper on one
topic that interested you from the conference.
• This is NOT just a rehash/overview of the seminar, but must go beyond the seminar content, and be sourced.
• I will read and grade these papers.

Air Travel
• Air Travel in the age of heightened security.• Tips many of you may already know:1. Travel light: only one carry-on bag, and one
checked bag.2. Airport security metal detectors:
1. Take out all change, cell-phones and metal objects, and place them in your carry-on bag.
2. Remove your belt and place it in your bag or on a tray to go through the detector.
3. Wear shoes without metal inserts – but plan on removing your shoes at the metal detector anyway.
4. Allow time for long waits.5. Don’t engage the security folks in conversation,
or argue with them about anything – this will lead to closer scrutiny and more potential delay.
