Project Funding TheprojectisfundedthroughthecompetitiveSacramentoAreaCouncilofGovernm

(SACOG)CommunityDesignGrantprogram.NoCitygeneralfundsarebeingused.

Encouraging Safe Alternate

TransportationhisbridgeprovidesasafeandconvenientaccessforthosewalkingandbicyclingbetweentheSacramentoCityCollege

ightRailStationandCurtisPark.

Currently,pedestriansandbicyclistsmustuseSutterville

oadtotravelbetweenCurtisParkandthelightrailstation.

hismulti-lane,high-speedroadwaymakeswalkingandbike

dingariskyandaninconvenientwaytotravel.Establishinga

moreconvenientandsafecrossingencouragespedestrianand

icycletransit,ultimatelyprovidingmorecommutingoptions.

Project Details Theproposedrampsandbridgewillbe12-feetwide,allowingenoughroomto

accommodatetwo-waypedestrianandbicycletrac.Thebridgeandrampswill

incorporateuniqueandelegantdetailsthroughthearchitecture,lighting,coloring

andlandscapingattheentranceandexitsofthecrossing.Avetosevenfootconcr

railingwithaccessshieldswillincreasesafetyforpedestriansandlightrailtrainsbel

Rampandstaircaseaccesswillbeavailableatbothendsofthecrossing.Theramp

structurewillcomplywiththeAmericanswithDisabilitiesActstandards.Onerampw

endattheproposedCurtisParkVillagedevelopmentandleadintobikelanes.Thera

ontheSacramentoCityCollegesidewillleadtothelightrailstation.
