Eliminating Fraying of Weft Yarn
Description
• Weft yarn consist of a multifilament of PES covered with a layer of vinyl. (Ø < 1 mm)
• When the core yarn are cut lengthwise the filament come out like a brush by time.
Goal of the Project
Eliminating the fraying by for example:
• Complete new material
• Monofilament
• Mixing different material that melts together
• Treatment of the core yarn
The yarn must run continuously into the extruders up to 800 m/min.
Process
Test the new core yarn in following processes:
• Extrusion process
• Weaving process
• Backing process
• Tile cutting
