By far the most common perfect cadence in all of Bach's chorales, easily recognized bythe falling tone in the soprano line and a 'dream' if it comes up in the exam. Bach's usualharmonization is II7b, V7, I.It is frequently voiced with a tone between the soprano and alto lines (be careful to prepare the 7th in the chord before).

'Dream' Cadence

If the tenor part gets too high use this voicing (always remembering to prepare the dissonance).

If he's feeling funky. Bach sometimes raises the bass note in the II7b chord.
