Corresponding with Michele Moses’ Brodie Lecture on November 2, “All Views Are Not Created Equal: Disagreement, Diversity, and

the Politics of Being Reasonable in Education Settings”. What role do we play, as First-Year

Seminar faculty, in free speech on campus? How do we enable and manage difficult

conversations in our classes?

Responding to Student Writing We will discuss new research on faculty feedback to student writing, working to understand the types of comments that promote revision. We will also think about classroom techniques to encourage and enable student attention to faculty comments. Lunch provided, go through line, checker will have list.
